“Earth to Mr. ‘I’m-here-because-I-incarcerated-my-CO.’”

That’s why.
These are the thoughts that came to Phantom as the man they called Redeye tried to snap him back in reality. The Jackal engineer in front of them, codenamed Proxy, was explaining something about nanomachines and stealing things. While Phantom was busy daydreaming and occasionally ogling the female agent, Redeye was actually listening so he could recite the important information to his younger comrade. They were, after all, both on the same recon team.
“…so these are prototype nanites, stolen from the top secret CDA facility you two raided last week. They’ve been engineered in order to augment your platelets and white blood cells-”
Redeye gave her a confused look.
“-effectively allowing your body to close wounds twenty times as fast, and prevent infection far more easily. And luckily enough, this is, as we stated, a prototype in very early stages of development, As such, it’s highly unlikely that the CDA has begun injecting their mercenaries with it yet.”
Redeye snorted. “Highly unlikely my ass,” he muttered to himself. He could see it now, taking upwards of 10 or 15 bullets to kill someone. He let out a low sigh.
This war could take a while.
Wouldn’t mind seeing some more in the future.
