Just curious.
Fanboy Brink or to not fanboy Brink
The term “fanboy” has been so miss-used on this forum, it has lost all sense of meaning.
This is also a stupid topic by a butthurt guy who doesn’t understand why people on this board, of all boards, like the game. (And maybe that the Devs didn’t reply to his email slagging them off while demanding changes)
is this the same fellow just creating new profiles every other day?
What happened to the folks that are still making up their minds?
It’s a fun game for some. It’s not for others.
Without solid definition of the word you’ll get no definite answer.
Also: “Fanboy” has negative connotation so anyone who is a fan is unlikely to click “yes”. And some will actually click “No” since they consider themselves rational fans of the game and not irrational fans (which is what fanboy implies).
This will result in a heavily biased / poisoned dataset (which will probably be used, incorrectly, to try prove something).
I suggest detailing your actual question properly and then coming up with some better / less biased options. You’re still going to have skewed data (the nature of forum polls) but it’ll be better than what you’ll get from this poll.
Yeah, what Zenstar said
If the question was “are you a FAN of Brink?” you’d get genuine answers. Since nobody is going to say “yes I’m a fanBOY”, your poll was doomed from the outset I’m afraid.
There is only one correct definition of “fanboy”, and it’s negative - the term was originally coined as a negative response to a “blind defense” in forum posts. Any other definition you might find out there has simply been made after the fact, and is therefore irrelevant and probably tainted/loaded/biased.
Again a simple yes no maybe will suffice I dont really care if you try to give your own meaning to Fanboy but don’t assume to speak for mine.
Without defining what you mean then the only meaning we can go on is the commonly accepted meaning which is negative (and Daz did a pretty good job explaining it).
If that’s what you mean a simple “That’s what I mean” would suffice.
If this thread makes it to the next page then I know this forum has already died.
Your Poll Should’ve looked like this:
( ) Are you a fanboy/girl
( ) Making mind up
( ) Nope
(x) Are you a member of SD forum?
Then you would’ve gotten a concrete and definitive answer.
Other than that, this poll has no point.
(I included my answer with an x to help ya get the ball rolling!)
If poll has no point don’t do it don’t bother posting here don’t impose your criticism or other hangups on other people as to fanboy I’m one just not of this game as to the 3 choices it’s really quite simple
1:yes I’m a huge fan of Brink
2:I don’t know I’m making my mind up.
3:there’s no way I’m a fan of Brink .
Dear lord even a poll which has 1/3 options as not making a choice either way,and 1/3 not really a fan of Brink has got so many peoples knickers in a twist .aren’t people allowed opinions in the effed up little world you seem to think you should be the only inhabitants?.

@Wildkardde-
You really need to read this again, and this time calm down enough to try and understand it.
No one has a problem with a poll asking “are you a fan of Brink or not.”
But when the way you word the poll scews the results that’s not a good poll and you need to understand that and not get angry about it.
Even if you had the wording for the poll correct you are still going to get meaningless results because you put a poll up on a website that is frequented mostly by fans of the game.
I find it funny that you’re not getting the reason for the ‘backlash’, even after it was explained perfectly well to you.
Let’s put it this way, I create a poll like so…
Are You A Rapist?
[ ] Yes
[ ] No
[ ] I’m considering it.
But what I failed tell anyone was that 1) I was actually referring to rapeseed farming, and 2) I’m blind ignorant to the popular global meaning of the term ‘rapist’.
My personal take on the term has no baring on how people are going to perceive it.

Not get angry seriously…any criticism is met with abuse anything remotely resembling criticism is met by abuse anything which merely has the option of possible criticism is met by abuse.Yes there are fans on this forum there are people who haven’t quite made their mind to be a fan on this forum there are people who are annoyed on the forum there are people who want brink to be better on this forum there are people seeking for answers to problems on this forum as to who’s in what majority I don’t know but this poll was just done to satisfy at the very least my own curiosity nothing more nothing less.personally I voted to not have made my mind up.
I am disappointed with the game certainly .but seriously are there more people happy with Brink the way it is right now than people who wanted the game to be better?
