Hello! I figured I’d make a post on fan-made companies and manufacturers within the Dirty Bomb universe.
Dirty Bomb is filled with dozens of military (Steg Industries), medicinal (Bvrf Chem), and food (Totally Awesome Chicken) based businesses - all of which are charming in their own right.
As much as I enjoy making new Mercs, I find it just as fun coming up with different businesses.
E Medical is an organization that came about due to the large quantity of inexperienced Medics around the world. Founded by the Medic, Pharma, E-Medical focuses on creating gear to make Medic work a lot more “EZ”.
E-Fibs, the “EZ” Easy-Defibrillators:
Their signature product, the “E-Fib”, is a one button defibrillator with a wide shock range and a fixed charge. They may not be as potent as standard issue defibrillators, but they do remove a lot of hassle.
Yummmo Ammunitions is both a fast food and weapon manufacturer. The company came about from the grandmotherly Fire Support, Jade (AKA Auntie Yu), who would hide homemade snacks within her ammo packs for Mercs to enjoy during a pause in combat.
Yummmo Packs, “feeding Yu and Yur gun”:
Her signature product are “Yummmo Packs”. Although they contain less ammo than regular ammo packs, the energizing snacks within reduce cooldown time when picked up.
Buzzer Beverages first began as a soda company from the Engineer, Hive, who collected honey from local bees. This quickly changed during the Dirty Bomb attacks as the bees had mutated, granting them electrifying stings and regenerative honey.
B-Fibs, the “BZ” Busy-Defibrillators:
Although starting off slow, the energizing electric stings collected from mutated honey bees grants the user increased speed and charge based on cumulative targets shocked/revived. However, it’s imperative to keep the combo going, as a single missed attempt will reset the effect.
Assault Merc Tezla founded Tezla Medical with the intent on survival: many Medics are defenseless when reviving downed teammates (Mostly Tezla) in the middle of combat - said Medics often succumbing to the hostiles responsible nearby, leaving both the Medic and downed Merc (Again, Tezla) awkwardly laying on the floor together.
T-Fibs, the “TZ” Taze-Defibrillators:
T-Fibs are hyper charged combat defibrillators. Releasing a charge onto a target or ally will also lightly shock local enemies (usually the weakened attackers). Although the range is short, the electric chain can extend onto other enemies, deployables, and even downed allies for revival.
Plasma Pharmaceutical found fame developing a plasma based alternative to risky defibrillator shocks; collaborating with the pacifistic water purifier Medic, Ozmo. The end result is a tool that values the safety of the patient, lowering their chance of being knocked down immediately after being revived.
P-Fibs, the “PZ” Peace-Defibrillators:
P-Fibs use healing plasma collected from mutated marine life instead of the usual electric shock. As such, the paddles are slow to charge and deal no damage to hostiles. However, revival grants temporary speed and health regeneration that isn’t interrupted upon taking damage.
And here are some visuals on Hive and Ozmo:
