False security violation message is still a thing!

It’s beta i know and their working on it but just so you guys know it hasn’t gone away past the phoenix update.

Yeah, I got one too. Not sure why they didn’t go in and add some proper error handling or at least change the default message if nothing else to something like, “NGS has encountered and error, exiting”. That isn’t the best solution but if they couldn’t fix it for this patch that should have been done at a minimum.

I normally don’t criticize dev work too much since I work in the field and understand the requirements and issues and the time involved to create and test new features…but not changing at least the error message was a complete oversight.

It apparently wasn’t fixed in the most recent update. I asked on stream what the status is and I mostly got a canned answer of, “we’re updating things all the time”. So prepare to keep ignoring it for another few weeks unless they can update NGS files independently of DB for this particular fix.

I’m going to leave this thread open and merge other new threads into it.

So new update I buy Pheonix … played on private with friends … not using Pheonix … go away came back a couple hours later and my first objective match … go up elevator and get disconnected for a security vialotaion. Had 259 hours playing before that ever happened.

It’s a known issue since NGS came online. No cheat was detected. NGS simply crashed.

It’s funny, I’ve only actually had it happen to me once. Wonder what’s causing it if some people are getting it constantly and others never or almost never.

If it wouldn’t get me mod-slapped, I would so bump my own thread from a couple weeks ago stating the “new” anti-cheat will be a complete failure. Honestly, TOLD YA SO.

Hackers still hacking freely. Legit players still getting booted. Black Cipher still crashing. And so many people jumped on my nuts for pointing out the obvious. Well, we’ve been patient and have given it time.

Can we all finally admit it has been a failure? That SD slapped out a gesture of a change and didn’t improve anything? (In fact they made things worse but whatever. Already gonna get dislike spammed for being too honest.)

NGS crashing has nothing to do with it’s performance in catching cheaters. And you always conveniently forget how AC software works despite many of us telling you over and over again. You get dislike spammed because you make posts to cause drama and you like to ignore facts. Not because you’re “honest”.

The reality is you’re playing damage control. Nothing I said was dramatic or false.

A certain number of hackers being banned over a period of time is meaningless if there’s plenty of hackers playing still. No one is saying hacking is expected to completely disappear, me especially, but the hacker issue has hardly improved if at all. The old AC worked too by your loose definition.

Also, I’m not saying that Black Cipher crashing is directly related to its poor performance in catching cheaters. What I am saying is that it is poor at catching cheaters JUST LIKE THE OLD AC, but on top of that IT ALSO CRASHES AND BOOTS LEGIT PLAYERS.

Quit twisting my meaning and trying to put words in my mouth.

The fact that myself, as well as others, have only experienced one or possibly zero NGS crashes since it’s release leads me to believe that it’s not entirely it’s fault… I for one have noticed an incredible drop in hackers that I have seen in matches and that is a pure fact. Simply because you are not 100% satisfied with the system doesn’t mean it’s not working, not to mention even games with high-end anti-cheats have hackers as well, the issue isn’t them being banned, it’s them coming back… and there really is no way to prevent that–especially not in a free-to-play game. Take APB: Reloaded for example, there is a notorious hacker in that game which comes back each and every week, he gets banned over and over and over and never goes away, there are simply NO ways to prevent hackers, only slowing them down.

How am I playing “damage control”? I don’t work for Nexon, SD and I have no track record with either other than I used to play ET. I simply prefer facts instead of hyperbole. I point out obvious issues and do so constructively as opposed to making constant hyperbole filled posts of doom and gloom that ignores facts of how things work. I am not much for doom and gloom without a good explanation that is well thought out.

I had it happen once since the update, it sucks but what is worse is when the game freezes and I can’t alt tab so I have to restart the PC.

I’ve had that happen twice now, it is salvageable but only if you have two monitors because you have to use the keyboard to move the task manager over so you can use it.

Well, i’ve been experiencing this dc-out-nowhere for a couple of week and this weekend i didn’t get kicked once, prob some changes on the NGS Self updater or so. I will try today and can give some feedback about the DC.
