Fall damage with fletcher stickies
I really don’t see an issue - you get propelled into the ground faster, therefore you get hurt more.

Problem is that it makes Fletcher a bit OP with some maps. Underground have very few (essential/heavily trafficked) areas where this would be an issue, but the objective spots on Terminal (both obj), Chapel’s EV destination to the GH Building, and like, all of Dome have loads of elevated spots where a good stick can insta kill an otherwise thick merc.
Personally I don’t see the point in having fall damage in this game. Given the mobility and other aspects.
That’s just me though, I’m not a fan of realism, sure it makes sense to have fall damage, but it’s a game, games don’t have to follow real world logic.
They don’t have jetpacks or exoskeletons. The game would be stupid unbalanced towards jumpfreaks.
Falldamage is good.

its so incosequential imo falloff can only really happen in a few places, doesn’t really matter.
You can lose more health from dropping down from first floor than from taking a bullet. If that doesn’t sounds wrong (just like melee vs. bullets) and like an unnecessary gimmick that just gets in the way of the fast pace of the game, the problem isn’t on people seeing fall damage for what it is.

Yes, some bullets don’t do much damage as they are hitting body armor, that is why headshots do more damage., no armor.
ET had a cool mechanic, the first headshot was reduced due to the helmet armor, that why the hat flew off with the first shot. Kill/revives were a PITA if they still had their hat on.

Care to offer your source? All I’ve ever read was that shots to the leg (which most mercs have no armor on) did 25% less damage than body shots, not to mention that mercs that dress more heavily (and also move slower) have more hit points already.

Hum really guys ? Theses numbers only come from balance. Imagine if every headshot instakill or if after a bullet taken in the leg you were unable to run or jump. This is not dirty bomb.
This game is about medium ttk and fast paced shooter, not realistic fps. If you want some of them, it’s not in this game that you’ll find it.
the real issue here is fletcher instagibbing skyhammer if he get hit by stickies while jumping?

Not quite sure why did you quote me? I’m the one saying fall damage has no place in this game besides as an annoying gimmick that gets in the way of the otherwise fast pace of matches.
@BloodySin sorry if I got it wrong, I thought you were trying to find some realistic reason of damage in this game.
And yes, fall damage has a place in this game, just because you can walljump doesn’t mean you can touch the sky like a God. It make you be aware of the high, but it’s not like it kills you if you’re full health,it’s just a friendly reminder of your poor human condition. The fall damage never bother me in this game.
But I think that just jumping when Fletcher detonate his sticky shouldn’t instagib you, maybe that’s a little problem here.
