When I try to launch the game in Steam it says “Failed to Start Game (Unknown Error)”
It happened after my computer failed to boot from sleep. Disk had to be checked for consistency and alot of stuff was fixed.
It ONLY affects DB. Very annoying as DB is the only game I currently play.
Stuff I have tried:
Launch Steam as administrator.
The Steam flush thing.
Verify game cache.
Launch the game from the .exe
Disabling all non-microsoft services in msconfig.
Disabling anti-virus.
Boot Windows in safe mode.
All the Windows repair things when I boot from Windows CD.
Reinstall DB.
Reinstall Steam.
Reinstall Net Framework.
Reinstall Visual C++ Redistributable Packages.
Yelling at my computer.
Moving it around.
Turning it off and on again.
When I launch from the .exe it says that side-by-side configuration is incorrect. I have tried to look for fixes but from what I understand it is different for different programs. I know there is a side-by-side section in the registry but there’s a million things there and I don’t understand any of it.
I don’t want to reinstall Windows. cba backing stuff up.
