so like many people i had the same error with DB start the game get a white screen and then that error appears
so i was looking on the forum and 2 of the solutions i have seen did not work for me
does where change launch option to -windowed in steam and change your resolution in the ini file both did not work for me and what i saw on the forum for most people that did not also work
but i have found something that might work for alot of people
go to your steam folder steam/steamapps/common/Dirtybomb/_CommonRedist/DirectX
there wil be a folder called something like Jun2010 click on it and scroll down untill you find DXSETUP
click on it and let it install all the files then restart your pc and wonders behold dirty bomb works again
