Extraction, something big is missing?
Regarding the XP and GC at the end of the game, this aspect is simply not implemented. This should become more meaningful once unlockable add-ons start to show up…
.
…Im unfortunally not pleased with city maps in generall:
- Maze map design. I find it the least fun of all map designs
- Citys are so uninstering to look at, to me.
Im sorry
I like the game, but Im not really hooked into it.
What I am missing?
Help me out if you can.
Cant blame you much ,its question of taste ,still Cities maps can be fun and be less mazed ,Level guys can do wonders even in cities …lets wait and see
Is there a nuclear reactor somewhere near/in London? They should make a map about it.
90% of this post can be attributed to the fact that this is a beta, and nowhere near a final product
Check out Wimbledon Common on Google map and have a look at the area southwest of it. It’s not huge, but large enough for a forest map if they wanted to make one. And there seems to be a few other potential spots west and north of Highgate Cemetery. And I don’t even know London that well, these are just a few things that popped up right away on the map while zooming out from the city…
People keep saying a city theme is boring, but we’re talking about something as large and diverse as London here, there are a lot of variations possible. And add in the fact that the city has gone through a massive decontamination effort, a mass evacuation and has been abandoned for a few years and the possibility are nearly endless. You can have anything from maps located entirely indoors to vast open outdoor areas. And the decon / evac backstory gives you ample excuses to plan whatever military-style structures you want pretty much anywhere.
Thats the spirit
Yes you are right, sort of. Neither you or me know what will be the final product.
However, like I mentioned about Titanfall, most of its maps bore me visually, while some are cool and awesome.

Thats true
Would be awesome if that was implemented.
City theme is only boring if it “vanilla city theme”, and not mixed up with awesome things.
Vegitation, and more worn down by time
Daytime, vanilla atmosphere
Smokey, cloudy
Dusk atmosphere
Vista view
Total overgrowth vegitation

Rain, dark, glowing lights
Big bridge / big building, vista view in the backgrund
Another color-palette

Sandmap, desert, unique / interesting building, outside city, vista view
Extraction already got this kind of, with the water tunnel map.
But the current map is missing, to me, more play with coloring and light like in this image

Again, Im sorry for the harsh feedback.
You’re still limited by what you can do with the London theme because of the story/theme of the game, placing loads of decontamination stuff in the maps might make them look less boring but you still have to make those structures fit in with the surroundings and overall the maps need to fit the theme of the game which seems to be about corporate espionage of sorts with us working for god knows who stealing data from other companies in an abandoned London, typically such data can only be found in certain areas. I’ve never bought into the theme of this game it just doesn’t make much sense at the moment and having two nameless teams with a bunch of identical mercs on each doesn’t help either. I would have liked to have two different teams and an actual conflict but that’s not going to happen now.
They should have just made each map it’s own premise and location if they knew they were going down this route of mercs for hire and have the mercs fight over something different each time in locations across the globe.

This would have been great. The little backstory and location of each map in ET gave each it’s own identity. The current London theme does put some limitations on creativity. It would be nice if it was a global theme, and not just specific to London.

Oh cool thanks
Here is another example of what is interesting, visually, with ordinary places
This image shows much beauty with
- strong color themes
- strong play with darkness and light
all pictures are amazing, very atmospheric, and colorful. can definitely be an inspiration for map-design!
