Extra Gibbing XP Now?

(TepidJesus) #1

I have just played my first game since the update and as I was playing I thought I noticed that I was getting more Gibbing XP than I used to. Is this a thing or am I just imagining it?

(XavienX) #2

Ikr I’m like getting as many XP from gibbing as from getting a kill. A lot of them are in bold for 100+ XP award.

“BUGS!”

Looks to be it. I don’t mind it, it incentivise people to actually gib more. Medics will have a harder time though :c

(ThunderZsolt) #5

I can confirm that you get double XP for gibbing.

I wonder if it is just a visual bug, or you are really getting that extra XP though

A very good incentive to “finish the kills/gibbing” in my opinion.

@TepidJesus if im right they did up the rate because people new and even vets didnt down enemies. which in turn youll screws your team if they have a good medic. so ya they more then likely upped it so people notice it and KO downed players.

Now i’m curious can you deny the enemy xp, if you kill yourself while you are downed?

Yep, though that would make your medics have a harder time as well. It goes both ways… personally unless I really want to piss the enemy team (and my medics) off, I usually don’t do that.

No real point in trying to deny someone XP anyway… the real point in tapping someone out before the enemy finishes you off is so that their Looter perk doesn’t activate from finishing you off.

When an enemy tries to finish you off he is vulnerable for 1 or 2 secs, especially if he have to run towards you and/or switch to knife. Being aware of those moments is valuable, especially if you are a medic (kill+revive).

I honestly feel like some of the unintentional bugs in this game are better than actual dev changes, which they just don’t have the guts to do. First the extra ammo station magazine glitch, and now this.

I really hope they leave it in though, people should finish their kills. And I say that as a medic main.

It’s been recently confirmed that it’s the other way around. Half XP for gibbing was a bug.

Right, another reason not to tap out. But if you do it right before the melee swing happens then not only will their Looter perk not activate, but it sometimes confuses players because they don’t see the XP message come up and actually try a second time to knife you before noticing you tapped out.

(Chilled Sanity) #16

I have no problems with this since this means new people may ACTUALLY FUCKING GIB INSTEAD OF LETTING THEM STAY DOWNED AND GET REVIVED

(Your worst knifemare.) #17

More points for me while i finish random kills like a grim reaper.
