ExportMD3

(bloodwire) #1

I’ve been looking for exportmd3 for autodesk 3ds max 8. The versions I’ve found were mostly for outdated version 4 of 3smax, does anyone know of a newer plugin?

If not, what are you guys doing to create .md3 models? I’ve tried using MlikShape 3d, but I am unable to get the textures to work for me.

I don’t have max 8 and havén’t heard of any plugins for md3 for that version.
I use 3d max 4 and 6 to make my models or I use milkshape. (milkshape textures aren’t that hard, just find a good tut)
and make sure you use the qc file

good luck.

I am using Milkshape for my .md3’s as my version of max does not support ANY of the MDS/MD3 import/exports.

Are you having trouble with the ‘textures and exporting’ or with the ‘UV mapping’ ?(in Milkshape)

i’m using 3dmax7 for a while now: As far as I know there currently aren’t any md3 import/export plugin’s for 3dmax version 7 or 8.
However: At the moment I am using a md3 export plugin for max6 that works perfectly with my 3dmax7 version, perhaps it will also work for your version?
I can’t remember the site I downloaded this plugin so here’s a mirror from my site:
md3exp_6.dle

Goodluck,

I use Max 5.

Max 5, and trying to use Lightwave 7.5. (It works, but exporting is a problem.)

You are the man !!! That works with # 7.

NOW…if we only had some MDS export tools that work with 7+. (I think I will E-mail Gray Matter just in case they feel like answering)

(kamikazee) #8

So the SKL exporter doesn’t work for #7?

(No1_sonuk) #9

AFAIK, the MDS SKL exporter for RtCW only works with Max 3.

Gmax is able to export .MD3. ----I’d talk more but it can just be read here >
