Exploding enemy mine doesn't kill enemies, only enemy Proxy

(binderr) #1

ok, this might be confusing a little. I’ll try to explain as clearly as possible.

When an enemy Proxy places a mine, and you from the opposite team shoot and cause it to explode, if an enemy Proxy was near by she’ll take damage or will die. But when a different enemy merc is near the mine (e.g. Skyhammer etc…) they don’t take damage from exploding mine at all. This is my issue or at least that’s what I’ve seen many times.

I don’t think this is a bug, so many times I’ve shot enemy proxy mine to kill another merc enemy but they don’t take damage, why this is I don’t understand. Exploding mine should cause damage all enemy mercs not just proxy who placed it.

Anyhow, I wonder if anyone else has noticed this or realised when shooting Proxy mines!!

Next time, I’ll try to post some screen shots to make it clear.

This is because friendly fire is not on by default.

Exactly. Only you can be harmed by your own explosives. Fletcher’s stickies can be shot in his face and cause him damage, just like Proxy can be hurt by destroying her mines.

yes I get the friendly fire but this is not a team mate shooting a mine. but when enemy team shoots your mine, and instead of you (proxy) your team mate is near by yet they don’t take damage even though an enemy blew the mine, I don’t think that should be stapled in as friendly fire.

If you can blow up a mine and kill a proxy shouldn’t you also be able to kill its team member’s by that too, that’s what I think!!!

That would break her mines completely. Everyone would hate any proxy on their team because her mine would be area denial against her team. You also can’t shoot your team mates mine to clear it. It’s working as intended.

If you get into a private match with FF on, then it will work that way. Activating it on non-FF matches would be inconsistent with the way FF works. I do however think you should get the kill reward if you blow up the Proxy by shooting her mine though.

She would quickly become the most hated merc in the game if this was the case. I understand what you’re saying but there is a valid reason why it works the way it does. Fletcher stickies also works the same way and for the same reason.

Then some stupid trolls could create a random steam acc lvl up to lvl 4 get proxy place mines and then shoot em and kill her whole team and i dont think thats what we want?
Right?
