absolutely AMAZING.
Please improve the map and the game mode!
I’d love to see in the future a 5v5 execution cup.
Can’t wait for new maps.
Execution map and game mode!
I really enjoyed playing the execution mode, the map is probably the best one in the game. I would love to see it textured. But you can stil make improvements.
A few suggestions:
1: You can knife out the windows so you can jump out so there will be a more dynamic gameplay.
2: There is a lack of defence on bombsite B (to few hiding places) so the A site is way more attractive.
3: As an attacker, the far left side (go’s straight to A) has only 2 entrances (one with the stairs to A, suicide and one that goes through the building) There should be a second one that goes through the same building to have a opportunity to flank the “campers in that building”. Because if you decide to go by there you have to be able to push through because going back is quite a long walk.
4: If the bomb is planted, stop the timer, because its confusing if they say 10 seconds left, if you could have 30 seconds or more.
5: At A bomb site, in the building in the corner of the map you have a broken stairs that leads to a platform, I think the platform is way to exposed, you could ad a crate or something like that.
6: It would be fine if you could walk through the bushes.
Thanks for the amazing time, hope some of these little improvements can get through.
PS: English is not my native language, don’t blame me for errors.
My thoughts on Execution, some are kinda nit-picky, but I still think it’s worth a say.
Thoughts on the bomb mechanic:
- I’m not sure I agree with how the bomb is defused and planted in this mode. Since once someone is defusing, everyone knows, even people nowhere near the site. It encourages the attackers to hide and only peak the bomb once the defuse ticker moves.
- It’s weird, since planting doesn’t have the same disadvantage as defusing does. You can sneak plant, but not sneak defuse.
- Since anyone can plant, and there’s no bomb to look after, it forces the defenders to look after both bomb sites at all times. The attacking team never has to commit to a site like they would if the bomb was an item. Allowing them to have free rotations of the entire map.
- Because of the above reason, the game mode seems very attacker sided, at least in theory.
Some other nitpicks:
- Like exultant said, the timer should go away once the bomb has been planted. Maybe replace the timer with a countdown clock of how many seconds are left until the bomb blows?
- On round end, the screen shouldn’t fade and turn off your entire HUD. It’s not a big deal since the round already ended, and surviving doesn’t matter unlike CS, but it’s just annoying and disorienting, especially if you’re trying to kill someone and the cross hair disappears.
- I sometimes can’t tell when the bomb has been planted, since the audio warning gets drowned out by air strikes and the like. If you’re covering one site, the bomb maker isn’t always in view either. I would suggest making the warning effect more noticeable.
- If the bomb planting mechanic doesn’t change, I would suggest making the bomb marker fixed onto the HUD itself, instead of floating on top of the bomb. No reason not to, since you can always see the marker, and it makes it easier to keep an eye on it.
Overall I enjoyed the mode, but it is very rough around the edges (which is to be expected).
I wanted to write my feedback in the official thread but because it’s locked now I’ll write it here.
I played a total of 17 matches and I have to say, I really like it.
It’s the adrenaline making this gamemode so fun.
There are lots and lots of corners.
That’s why you can never be sure where the enemy is, watch your back!
Of course there is still a lot of work to do, the map still needs some textures and perhaps some tweaking but overall it looks very promising.
- I think this mode would be more enjoyable if on the mini-map bomb site A and bomb site B are marked with an A and B, just to let your comrades know there are few enemies on a certain bomb site instead of saying something like -they are on the left bomb site by looking from our spawn, i think it’s the B site but i’m not sure because i don’t remember the letter it’s located there-.
- In my opinion you shouldn’t be able to see enemies’ scorepoints because you can understand when a defender is hiding close to the plant by seeing that his scorepoints grows by 10.
- Finally I think it’s a bad idea to let a dead player spectate another player that’s already dead. This happens when you’re spectating a player and he/she dies.
I have to agree with the above posters the defusing seems to be way more dangerous than planting, at least in execution you shouldn’t be able to see if someone is defusing.
EDIT: Put should instead of shouldn’t
you should be able to see if someone is defusing.
You can.
I absolutely love the idea of the game type, where you don’t respawn and you can see how many players are left alive. That is SO cool! When only a few players left and they’re all panicky planting and defusing bombs and the fact that they know they’re the only ones alive and everyone is spectating, just makes for some very interesting and intense battles! I already love the map, even without textures
I can’t wait to see the final product. Good work Splash Damage, i think this Dirty Bomb is going to kill it.
