I’m not sure what the effect is or whether it’s fog, but Camden’s gone green!
Excessive Fogginess on Maps
I totally feel like I am aiming at the orange names of my enemies and not the models because of this. If the enemies didn’t have bright orange things floating over their heads, it would be like shooting at ghosts.
[QUOTE=iwound;444286]is it getting worse. its a pea sooper.

I have everything off, lol, and I see nothing coming close to that.
Oh that brings another point. I really hope the final/beta doesn’t have enemy health bars and names. Just more **** clogging my screen. This isn’t an mmo I don’t need to know my enemies hp.

XD so true.
Acknowledging a problem
I’m just here to agree with everyone. The fog makes it hard to keep track of everything (Sometimes I find myself aiming on the nametags in stead of the player) and makes the game depressing.
Analyzing the cause
Just some thoughts but could it be that everyone has changed the brightness setting to 3-4 which causes the washed out effect? Some spots on the maps are really dark. Like alleys, corridors, under a bridge, rooms so you just need to change the brightness settings to see something. Of course you want the right atmosphere for Dirty Bomb but it should affect the gameplay.
Possible solution
If that’s the case would it be possible (and solve anything) to slightly adjust the brightness, tone and contrast, on top of the players settings, based on what’s displayed on the players screen? That way we can see in darker alleys and it’s something usually our eyes naturally do in real life environments.
Ailmanki placed an interesting post of a prototype monitor which improves your in-game visibility a few days ago. Something like this build into Dirty Bomb would be helpful: http://forums.warchest.com/showthread.php/35972-To-be-improved?p=445230#post445230
Just a thought
The thing is, it’s so nice and clear when the maps are at an early stage. I just don’t get it at all, aesthetically or in terms of gameplay.
