exceeded max shaders

(livingdeadjedi) #1

I sometimes get this error
but deleting the odd shader normally helps…
but on this occasion it didnt…

First time i rendered map it worked… but then i added some steam and two models and it exceeded…

So i deleted the models and some shaders but it got worse…

I will try getting rid of the steam but it really needs it…

SO… i was wondering is there a way to exceed the maximum shader limit of 1024 ??

What game are you mapping for?

sorry jk2

i think ive worked out the trouble…

After deleting some new lights i had added with info_nulls it seemed to stop the error… it was either a bad light or a trigger brush had beome corrupted…

If anyone has any other theories please dicuss it here in case my little problem occurs again

You’ll be pleased to know of the increased shader limits in JA… James Monroe posted this on LucasForums a while back:

MP:
#define MAX_SHADERS 16384
SP:
#define MAX_SHADERS 8192

falls off seat… WOOHOOO :bump:

Be careful. If a light entity has a “targetname” key, it will be a switchable styled light.

Those are expensive.
