Exact Limb shot damage?

(Tanker_Ray) #1

Howdy people, Thunder Pro here.

I’ve been curious about this for a long time.

What I thought was, you deal half of your base damage if you shoot the limbs(ex. Grandeur’s 40 damage reduced to 20).

If the numbers are odd, you round off the digits(ex. Hochfir’s 9 damage reduced to 5)

Well, but somehow this isn’t right, due to the Scores I get whenever I shoot limbs.

I have absolutely no idea how to calculate this limb damages.

Can somebody tell me how much damage reduction does shooting limbs cause?

(gg2ez) #2

Wait. Shooting limbs reduces damage?

(XavienX) #3

Does that explain how a Sparks survives with 90% health after I shot her twenty billion times in the limb?

(Tanker_Ray) #4

Of course, why not?

You can always feel it whenever shooting bolt actions like MOA or Felix.

I do remember numerous 43??(I think the numbers are always different because of natural HP regen) damage shooting legs, foot, or arms whatever that isn’t headshot or bodyshot.

I’ve never actually used a sniper rifle in DB - ever. I probably wouldn’t notice if I looked for it.

I just logged into an empty server and ran some tests with the De .50, PDP and Selbstadt .40.

DE .50 base damage is 20
Selbstadt .40 base damage is 15
PDP base damage is 45

When shooting at a players foot with the DE. 50 it dealt 16 damage. When shooting at a players body it dealt 20. When shooting at a players hand it dealt 20. When shooting at a players head it dealt 40.

When shooting at a players foot with the Selbstadt .40 it dealt 11 damage. When shooting at a players body it dealt 15. When shooting at a players hand it dealt 15. When shooting at a players head it dealt 30.

When shooting at a players foot with the PDP it dealt 36 damage. When shooting at a players body it dealt 45. When shooting at a players hand it dealt 45. When shooting at a players head it dealt 90.

Shooting at the arms and hands dealt the normal base damage of the gun. Only when firing at the lower legs or feet did the damage get reduced. In each case where damage was reduced it was lowered by roughly 20%. In our testing the Selbstadt .40 damage was actually reduced by 27%. It seems like this may be a locked value and not a calculated one for balancing purposes.

So, moral of the story, don’t aim for the feet. Thanks for testing that Amerika Ardez

They both have an A and an R in their name, and are moderators… looks the same, right? I’ll just go in a corner over here.

(Mr-Penguin) #8

But why would you be aiming for the feet anyways…?

(gg2ez) #9

*Thanks for testing that Ardez.

(maizeEmpire) #10

Very interesting stuff. Now all we need is damage dropoff information

Because Sparks is 90% limbs.

(FalC_16) #12

I would like to see the actual hitbox analysis in Dirty Bomb. Is there such a thing somewhere?

Because you fucking can!

Check out 10:07 (dont know why it doesnt work with the timestamp)

If someone is missing the trailer too:

Anybody remembers NKMs trolling milestone or even has a higher quality upload?

With her 4 health packs she more or less has an effective health pool of 210

(PD_Agent47) #15

I think 75-80% of body damage is dealt when you shoot at the limbs … i have noticed it while playing with Grandeur SR … it dealt around 30 at limbs !!

Due to me learning to play Sparks proper this weekend I came to realize that her effective HP is incredibly high when you get any hint of a warning of incoming damage but shotguns at even mid range and not even headshots don’t give you a ton of warning. And minor fall damage + being hit by a FEL IX body shot immediately after is annoying too.

In regards to the limb damage I never knew for certain but assumed there was reduced limb damage but I’d never tested out exactly how much reduction there was or even where you had to shoot to get reduced damage. However, coincidentally, another poster here brought up some damage oddities with the Stark in one of my videos in regards to a 13 hp loss that seemed to be extra in what looked to be 1v1 fights.

Might be worth investigating with a bunch of weapons in quite a few scenarios to figure out exactly how it all works. Of course somebody might have already done this and posted it on YT but it’s just not common knowledge.

Thank you very much for the experiment Ardez!

So the only part that damage is reduced is under knee parts huh. 20% reduction for every even number base damage.

But the part about the odd number base damage reduction, and exact digit calculation can you do me a favor about it more?

-1 damage more reduce for odd number damage seems quite unfair.

maybe we should try testing with guns like Dreiss(27), K-121(17) or Kek-10,MP400,MK.46(11)

and also digits like 18 damage(Stark and Blishlok), if 20% reduction is right, its digit is 14.4.

I really want to know if this number is calculated round off(15), or round half down(14).

I have no DB friends to ask for dummy for me. :frowning:

anyway, thank you very much again!
