Evie-The Heavy. (armour based merc, name is subject to change)

@fluorescentUrchin Unfortunately I have no more time to keep sketching as we’re doing an animated film right now. You will notice I didn’t even sketch my own suggested Merc (Syx).

The Karskin is interesting and points out a couple of possibilities. It all depends on how “Open” is “Open Configuration”. You can do it in such a way that Evie wouldn’t be able to sit down or bend over if the armor was open if you have to negotiate the position of too many toolbox sized plates.

The best overall configuration actually is the armor in CoD: Advanced Warfare

But those have the benefit of not having a “Transformer” sequence.

I would give it a go… If only I had more time.

@TheGreatHoundini Thanks, I will check your merc out!
Its a difficult one, the reason I felt a transformation sequence would be good as it would give enemy players a visual cue as to when her armour is active, allowing them to change their strategy to counter it. As you said, there are a lot of cool and interesting ways which it could be done!

PS: the piece of art which you so kindly produced is now my wallpaper

@flourescentUrchin That’s great that you’re using it as wallpaper! Yeah, that was another thing I was thinking about. That the “exo armor frame” thing was really to “hold the plates” rather than to provide super-strength. This is also why I knew I wanted to do a “face closed” configuration for the head armor since as a human biped, it’s natural players will identify with head/face changes.

This was a really good exercise so thanks also.

Wish I had time to paint it in color.
