Ever have one of those games..

Where you could win but your team, instead of acting like a team and doing what they should do, go and play TDM for 14 minutes? ugh e_e. So, how do you guys cool down/calm down and deal with any and all salt that might form from the game?

Because I need suggestions. I am currently the Everest of Salt at the moment.

Growing up and learning how to not give a shit about random matches with random teammates is a start.

(Yes) #3

It sucks. :frowning: I usually just take a break after games like those.

“But you play a game for fun” Hеll! I have fun at winning. That’s what PvP is designed for. I don’t have any fun if my team is a sheepherd without any intelligence and you can’t do anything, while your enemies are a well-trained NAVY seals team.

To OPs question. It’s my Dirty bomb career. Almost all of my games are as you described it.
Also “salt” isn’t a thing and you should feel bad for using it anywhere but a dinner table.

At least, you can say that you are first to do it at the moment.

Just ignore them and like one song says:“Just do it!”

I usually play for the kills, objectives aren’t important for me.

(SteelMailbox) #7

well when you need to make sure that they wont repair the EV it is deathmatch for the defenders.

(Gi.Am) #8

First of nice those well trained NAVY seals are cute as hell.

For OP it really depends, if my team has the decency to play TDM on the defenders side of the objective, I don’t mind. Enjoying that I can do the objective in peace, listening to the distant sound of their slaughter.
Unfortunaly they have a tendency to do their TDM on the wrong side of the objective. In this case I say fuck it, pull out one of the damage dealing Mercs and work on improving my aim. Games are about fun first and foremost, yes I will go for objectives as hard as I can (alone if I have to). But if I see that is not what that match is about at all, I switch gear.

when my team plays TDM, i just join in, no reason to get upset about a pub lol, in tf2 i had many pubs where half my team and half the enemy team are standing in a corner chatting, showing off their weapons and taunts, so i usually dont take pubs that serious

I can’t give you any advice, I’m way too casual, I’m sorry. I actually judge games based on how much fun I can have even if I’m totally losing and I think there’s no wrong way to play the game except outright cheating. I do totally get your side of it though, but I think the best answer is to team up with some like-minded people and play with them. There are many who agree with you. Like for me, I friend up with casuals like me to get hammered and pub it up. You know, I still think going for objectives is more fun than TDMing it, but that’s just me. If a guy just goes for kills I won’t bash him even if he’s bottom of the scoreboard and single-handedly why we’re losing, as long as he’s not being a jerk in chat.

But I’m not saying I’m right hah, what I’m trying to say is there are different philosophies to gaming and you’d do yourself well to team up with people who believe in yours so you don’t get stuck with drunk clowns like me. Just my thoughts, amigo.

Well, won’t lie. Did not expect this many good responses to this thread and damn near everyone of them gave me a really good chuckle and thus improved my mood xP thank you very much guys, I appreciate it.

And yeah, I know. I take it too seriously sometimes, but I honestly can’t help it. I’m just a competitive person and while I generally don’t let it take over, when it’s a game like that (Where it’s final objective, 10 minutes on the clock and my team just checks out of the hotel) it just kinda…gets to me xD

But you all made me chuckle and feel better, so I thank you. also, the navy seals thing was utterly priceless. Gj mate.

(Yak) #12

I know the feeling, I’m also a competitive person (who doesn’t play MM). I have to take a step back and realize I’m playing the game for fun and winning is only a bonus.

i find the key is to yell at your teammates over voice chat as much as possible. be degrading and relentless
