Care to give us some more details on what happened? What is this “blocking issue”(what does that even mean). A lot of time has been used to get ready for this and cancelling it without telling us WHY is pretty scummy.
Especially us, less lifestyle gamer types. Feels kind of shitty to even try to prepare for something for weeks beforehand, and get snubbed out of it with an unexplanatory forum comment.
So many female private parts untouched. So many beers undrunk. I’m devastated.
Come on people, they only had 2 weeks notice, that’s barely any time for preparation. Putting up private servers and making sure the function actually works is tough work. I mean, after all. We got the 6 US servers we asked for.
Sorry should have explained the reasoning first. There’s a bug in the UI. The password box was missing- so you couldn’t join. The only way we could have gone through with it was via public servers and we all know how that would have worked. Trust me-we wanted it to work. Spent 3 hours troubleshooting with Splash Damage today and there was no viable workaround. We do feel really bad and should have made sure this wasn’t a issue before but never had a problem with password protected servers prior to this. Still an oversight on my part. Anyway, we really want to make it up to you. Will keep you posted on our plans.
connecting through console, i.e. “open IP:Port?Password=” couldn’t work?
anyway, can’t say I was excited about the tournament itself but was looking forward to playing some games against some great teams and players. needless to say this is very disappointing.

Sorry everyone about this! I was frantically trying to get it sorted last night but SD found there was a problem in the UI which makes me a sad panda.
While I cannot promise anything for a while now as I start my new job tomorrow, I will try to get someone to get something going on my behalf. Hoping it’ll be as good 
I’m not gonna lie, but this was a major disapointment. I know alot of teams have been working hard lately on both practicing and recruiting to get ready for this tournament/cup.
While this is sad and we have all been preparing for this cup I hope we can see something similar very soon in the future, or just keep the brackets, ask the teams that have signed up if they still want to and delay it for like a week or something.
a one week delay would probably be fine for most teams, and there are teams that can sub if needed. I hope SD can get private matches working within a week.
Also could maybe look into the servers, 4 of them are NA west even though they were supposed to all be EU. I’m fine with there being NA east servers (probably best location anyway) but NA west is quite a bit worse.
I dont have a problem with delaying it a week but I won’t be around for 6 weeks to maintain it or overlook it. Feel free to go ahead and try get it going yourself but as of tomorrow morning I am away training for a new job.
