You can’t really put out some rules for the first tournament without any kind of discussion and expect it to work like the holy book of playing DB competitive, so i think a little consideration to alter the rules might actually work in favour of the contestants. Don’t you think?

Hey I do too. I understand it’s not optimal but what I’m saying is it’s still playable. In a NA vs EU situation I believe the better team will win regardless of ping.

@rawket_cc I just think it is great that some guys of this community are willing to set things up like this in a closed beta (getting private servers, prices, twitch coverage,…). Its stupid that people are whining so much while they should be thanking @potty and everybody at evaczone. Oh well some people are never happy I guess.

If FF is to be on in the tourney, it will need to be on in mm/private matches before hand (within the next couple days) so we can actually practice playing with it.
I personally find organized 5v5 games to be fine without FF as there’s a lot less spam than in casual, don’t think turning it on right now is needed.

There are some online games without FF enabled, but they activated damage by explosives. Do you guys think that this could be an option for DB as well? Enabling damage for airstrikes, grenades, mines, etc.?

The plan is to have ff on. I understand that not being able to practice with it on is a ball ache but i can only guess that once a rule set for competitive db takes shape ff will be on like any other fps I have played.
We tried it with previous cups where many teams couldn’t play with it on and had no issues. Again, it will be another decision I am having to make that will only please half of you. I will encourage sd to enable a FF on mode for match making.

or hopefully a few servers with ff on so people can practice and get used to it?
or better yet: proper hitsounds, so you don’t hit triple HS thinking your awesome only to see dead teammates all around

Oh I’d love to participate. I remember I already played once in the Alpha (potty hosted that too, if I’m correct?). I sort of disappeared but I’ve been playing actively recently. Don’t have a team though and you can’t play alone 
unless anyone recruits me
I do love the initiative though, keep it coming.

This tournament is being put together by a player in the community who thought there might be interest in running an event.
Why the fuck are so many of you up in arms about this like it’s some company-sanctioned global tournament?
