So after having seen the EV being so slow, my brain started asking why that is.
So it came up with some reasons, also bad reasons …

There is a anti-vehicle satellite/ artillery, which shoots it as soon as it detects fast movement…
bad one. -
There is radioactivity in the air, and this vehicle does magically clean it.
another strange/bad one, since players have no radioactive protection suite. -
It has no power unit, or its drained already - and only special classes have a power unit with them, which allows the EV to continue its path.
at least strange. - But it would be cool in MP I guess. As mentioned in another thread, then it would make much sense - the more players near EV - the faster it moves. -
The road is so bad it can’t drive faster - not the case currently.

The vehicle is scanning the surroundings, to find the objective. Once found the tank is of no use anymore. Obviously the objective is always at same place… so Probably the EV also needs some way to open the path to the objective.
Strange? Silly?

The EV is pulling something which is very heavy - well it probably would be heavy no matter whats in it, due to the protection it needs.

good one at first, but breaks immersion - why can’t it be destroyed completely? -
As smart as the EV is, it needs a FieldOps? to mark the path as clear, else it doesnt progress.
Bad one, tedious and not fun -
Same as above, but any player in its sight in front will make it move forward. (At a faster pace then now.)
Could be interesting… still the question is open how fast. -
Since the vehicle is unmanned it makes sense that it will not be driving faster then a human walks. At least that is my perception. But if its slower - it feels like a unit for a hospital with old people. If it drives at same speed, it seems like a military unit to support me. If its faster, seems like it wouldn’t need me at all - why not even faster?
These are all ideas I got for now…
I believe the more realistic a game looks like, the less is the acceptance for unreal situations. It breaks the immersion faster.
Overall I must say it seems hard to come up with any good idea for a slow vehicle. It any case its look has to match its speed. And the current EV looks like it could go easily faster.
