EV collision. (Make it more Smooth plz)

I realy dislike, when i stuck somewhere at the side if EV. or it Just grabs me and pulls me with it!!
I think EV interaction box should be much more Smooth. I should be able to run around it and never stuck anywhere.

Even more i would like to be able to jump on it and ride on it and even jump from it (with little speed boost.)

While I aggree on the first part I know the second part will be impossible to implement since the engine is limiting the way 2 moving objects can/are treat with each other.

that is a sad thing!
i imagine a Proxy jumping off the EV and with double wall jump getting to the balcony somewhere in Bridge. That would be a nice trick to do!

The mounted MG turrets that are around the maps could use a little shaving with their collision boxes too, especially the one in the house in Trainyard near the first objective. They also seem to have a bit of an invisible wall around them that blocks bullets.

I doubt the engine is limiting this considering many many many other games use the UE engine with similar mechanics where this is not a problem. It’s just a bug and they haven’t fixed it yet. What is very irritating about it is if you get shot down in front of the EV but you can still be defibbed and somebody does defib you…you’ll be stuck to the EV a lot of times. Similar to the turret bug.

That “stucked in a mg” bug is KNOWN and is something fixable but 2 moving objects interacting with each other are not easy to achieve that smooth. If u just “doubt” it because u dont want it to be that way im sorry but look into some documentation since it is a known problem and one of the only engines i know that REALLY did good on it is the “source” engine for CS:S CS:GO. Moving objects in most engines are not a easy things to do.

can we put in / enable player collision while we are messing with stuff pls?

Unreal Engine 3 had some janky issues when it came to two object interacting. However that was more with physics objects, or KActors, as they were known. Basically jumping on a physics object kept you bouncing and sliding about until you fell off. (can see this in UT3 and Borderlands series) Haven’t actually jumped on the EV to see if this actually happens though.

hat i believe they’re actually doing with it though is that the EV is just a skelmesh that moves along a path when players are nearby. No physics involved there… sooo walljumping off of it should be possible. It’s also possible that, because the collision is off (hate getting caught on it) The timing is hard to get right.

If you’re going to quote somebody then actually quote them. Don’t come up with your own badly worded, spelled and incorrect version. Also, I noted a similarity between getting stuck on the EV after a rez just like there is a bug with the MG. I’d wager it could happen on the ammo dumps too since they have wonky collision.

Could you please link me to this documentation? Because personal experience with a number of EU games doesn’t support your point. There are whole EU games that are built around interactions with moveable objects that you don’t get stuck on. So if it’s so well documented I’m sure you can hook me up easily.

I’m not sure why you decided to be such an angry tough guy on the forums but you should probably tone it down a bit.

-edit- I just looked around a bit and found very few issues like this and almost all of them were issues that were easily resolved.
