ETSK - tiny little mini Faq and new server annoucement

(Serge) #1

I saw a few people joining my home based server beeing disconnected when hiting me.
So here is the same installation instructions contained in the etsk.pk3 that will avoid you
beeing disconnected for the same reason if you are new with mod installation.

Why do i get disconnected with the “unknow event xx” error message when i hit someone ?

For the mod beeing properly installed ( and thus for the right client beeing launched, the
one that can interpret event xx ), not only have the pk3 files to be placed in your etsk
folder but the pk3 must not be deleted ( especialy if running in pure server ) when finished
with unziping.

So you must end up with the following:

  • A directory named etsk in your main wolf et directory.
  • The files extracted from etsk.pk3 placed in the etsk directory.
  • Etsk.pk3 placed in the etsk directory.

A new server will soon be available. I will post the ip as soon as it started.

If the server is pure, you should only need to extract the .dlls from the .pk3 if they got overwritten by a different version, and you want to host a local game.
