own3d sucks ass lately. Takes ages to load and it didn’t convert my last vid to HD (lol even youtube did). Also linking to HD resolution of a vid doesn’t work there anymore (and there’s no info anywhere how to).

There are imho only 2 reasons of putting vids to own3d nowadays: it differentiates games and it has 20 min limit for a vid, whereas tube only has 15 min. Both have 2 Gb limit for upload.

Recently, tube started to process correctly the x264 lossless renders, so things are improving there.

Also new linking to HD versions is now on tube: you gotta add &hd=1 to the vid link (instead of &fmt=22 before)

Yeah I had the same problem, but seeing my crappy connexion I assumed it was just me, it’s really weird sometimes how unhit some people seem to be, but as they said I’m unhit alot also lately, I assume its my connexion!

I’m happy, you can see I killed someone in this vid I think in the obituary, had great fun as stroggs, was ****e as gdf and couldnt hit a cow in a tunnel…

I’ll try to be on more often :wink:

Rewind for the demo’s or when editting? For demos, AFAIK there isn’t. you can set multiple markers, but it would only cut from the last set demoCutStartMarker to the first demoCutEndMarker, and i guess thats not what you wanted. Nice movie for a first attempt though, liked the slow scrolling intro and the music throughout :smiley:

Thanks! Yes I want to rewind when watching a demo for the que points.
Not a big deal I can write down a list, but it saves time

And when I do cutnetdemo it cutout all the markers I set.

It’s super annoying without those 2 options :mad::mad:

Use ‘generateNetDemoKeyFrames <demoname>’ (replace <demoname> with the name of the demo) to generate key frames for the demo (IIRC it corrupts the demo if you do it while the demo is playing, so do a stopNetDemo first).

Then when playing the demo use keyFramePrev and keyFrameNext to move between keyframes. As RR2DO2 mentions, the game doesn’t really like going backwards like this so after rewinding a bit, pause and do ‘writeJumpStartDemo <somename>’ to save your position in the demo to a file.

Then you can do ‘playJumpStartDemo <somename>’ to start the demo playing again from that point. The demo cutting commands work as well as they always do (i.e. not well) when using these commands.

whilst we’re on rendering, does anyone know what causes a render to line up with the demo? say for instance running and jumping round a corner. The demo plays it fine but when i try to render it runs and jumps before the corner has even appeared, then just ends up running into a wall

Rendering at an FPS other than 30? Have unlocked framerate on? Might be neither of them but they can both cause timing issues with various things.

i tried, 30, 60 and 120 and have maxFPS at 999. I got the worst results with 120, and best with 30. Not that much of an issue since i can fraps at 30 on highest, just annoying if i want to try some slow-mo with a clip rendered at 120 FPS

server just provides 30 frames. all others are interpolations

Since Samu posted some of his unhit moments I shall do the same altough with a slightly different ending.

Some comments on the video:
We are now usually playing with totally default netsettings (except samurai who has a command in his config that apparently no one else has :smiley: ). For me the unhitness continues. I now think it is because of some funny packet loss or I just don’t seem to get the right information from the server.
REX and Kordin got the honor of being unhittable for me in this video but it’s not just them. Everyone seem unhit more than often and thats why I prone to think it’s something related to my system; connection, config, graphix and of course aimfail (most of the time).

SOME OF SCENES:
Spawning Rex is unhit until by lucky over aim I locate his head some 2 cm to the left of his apparent head.
Rex behind a tree np.
Jump around the corner guns blazing and Kordin tries to be unhit until I block him and start hitting. It’s somewhere around after 0.5 seconds I actually start hitting him like I should be.
There is also a Kordin hs with sniper. It is debatable if it really is a hs but in my experience it usually would have been.
Also one protey without a head.
Last but definetly funniest the server desides that I am actually a fraction to the left in a critical moment.
