To add to the actual discussion in a more direct fashion, look at League of Legends.
League of Legends has an actual full on PR issue with people being dicks to each other. Keyword “Toxic Community”.
The only cause of action for Dirty Bomb is to either do what they did, have a separate report function for people being dicks, or not do anything at all.
Because if League isn’t using it, it ain’t working. So take it or leave it.

Yea I’ve seen a lot of racist people and honestly I couldn’t give a shit.I just pity them.In a F2P game there will come lots of idiots(generally stupid children) and there’s nothing we can do about it.

That is true, a significantly higher proportion of players are children, since the game is free.

Still some of the worst things I hear people say are the older people (18+) tbh. I think all demographics have bad apples in them.

And yes since it’s a F2P game that automatically results in more of those kind of people since they don’t have to pay for the game and have easy acces to it.

It’s sad but there is not much we can do about it, I’m afraid. :frowning:

LoL is free to play and bans people for trolling/flaming. It’s not perfect, but at least there’s something in place. DB should have a report feature in place with an automatic system like LoL has.

There’s nothing in place right now, so be as toxic as you like!

Funny that you mention LOL since that’s the only game I stopped playing because of how terribly poisonous the community was. Almost every single game there were multiple people who are just insulting others… I’m not talking about 1 out of 10 but of 4 or more out of 10 people in a match. I even encoutered an entire team (premade) that was insulting my team just because they enjoyed that…

I play Counter-Strike from time to time and that community is definitely not better than the one for Dirty Bomb. But even Counter-Strike doesn’t have a community as poisonous as the one of League of Legends…

There might be a system in place but in the end people that insult others don’t care about that system. At least that’s my experience with it. Also you could get situations like this just because the enemy team is p*ssed that they lost the game.

Ignoring that stuff is the only real solution for the problem right now.

Adding a system would just result in random bans or warnings. Look at why the dislike button got removed from the forums. People just abused it for no good reason. If SD adds a system to report this stuff => you can expect that there will be players who will abuse the report system.

It’s important for the community to know there are standards and repercussions for excessive trolling and toxic behavior, even if it’s not perfect. LoL hands out a TON of bans for player toxicity, and many players express sincere desire to reform their behavior after receiving a ban. That improves the community.

I’d rather there was a limit on the number of shuffles during a match, solely based on having four of them pass during my latest sw game. That’s trolling on a massive scale! :wink:

If there is a clear ruleset(that most f2p play games simply lack, going with some generic idiotic “we deal with each case individually”) and a proper reporting system set, then amount of abuse, if any, would be minimal.

I was really wondering where that dislike button went but I’m glad they removed it because for the very reason it will be abused.
