ET: What's the most efficient FFE script?

(Fusen) #21

I can see where kendle is coming from but I have to disagree in that, one key to zoom plus attack in 80% of situations is quicker and easier than doing it manually

(Kendle) #22

I suppose it depends on which buttons you use. As it’s almost certain you use a mouse button to fire, and your hand is already on the mouse, it’s no more effort to press a +zoom key (with one hand) and click a mouse button (with the other) than it is to press a zoom+attack key.

Do you suppose dignitas.Urtier uses an FFE script?

(murka) #23

i dont see a reason too. well maybe with an older mouse wit no extra keys. thumb for zoom, that like same as ffe script but with no shooting sound and no waste of buttons.

I use mwheeldown for FFE.

plz smb make a mod where more buttons are supported, like:

[ul]mwheel left
mwheel right
mwheel2 up
mwheel2 down
mouse6-xx[/ul]
cuz when buying an expensive mouse like this i hoped i could run most actions in ET with my mouse

and if you wondering omfg mouse wheel 2 wtf?
then Logitech MX Revolution (expensive many-button mouse that isnt very good for gaming) tho i love it for its ergonomics

(Kendle) #26

Can you not associate those buttons with standard keys via your mouse software and then bind actions to those keys?

(murka) #27

lol i tried that, but when i bind sth to mouse6 it tells that unknown button, i dont want to turn off that program because it controls my SmartShift™ (funny thing that swithces my wheel1 speed, from click-to-click to free spin where it can spin for 28sec, when i turn off that program i cant use mouse3 cuz it swithces speeds)
but i have somehow managed to make it so i can use mouse3 without that program.
maybe its just me, can anybody else bind these buttons?

(Sauron|EFG) #28

I think that making those keys/buttons possible to bind would require an engine modification.

Anyway, what Kendle meant was to for example assign mousewheel2 up/down to for example ‘I’ and ‘O’ in your mouse software and then bind ‘I’ and ‘O’ in ET, if that wasn’t clear. (Maybe it’s even be possible to make this application specific?)

(murka) #29

how the heck do you do that, give me a link so i can dl such a program, all i can bind on my mwheel2 via logitech setpoint are zoom, document flip, volume and media
but with mouse wheel right and left and mouse 6-xx i have keystroke assingment, going to try that
