actually, i dont think you should add TOO much…I love this map dearly…are you the creator?

But perhaps some opportunities for new classes like cov ops, and more constructibles, since ET focuses on that now.

love the map, i would say add team doors in certain areas, like entry to the tank area, make it have a team door, or two, and the only other way in is to explode a wall, etc, somehitng like that maybe. o o also, that area near river where theres that lil grate over the water that burns you to death, make taht grate a constructable, you know, make certain choke points need to be constructed to get thru

you created the best custom i’ve ever played…in fact most custom maps are crap. i’m extreemly excited to hear you are creating an ET version of the map. if you don’t anything to the map i wouldn’t mind. you made it to perfection. so maybe you should just keep it how it is and add some textures and maybe axis can rebuild the bridge. and add some buildable mg42. i dunno. whatever you do i’m sure it will be great.

Your mp_tank for RtCW is my all time favorite map, so I can imagine what you can do with the ET version. :clap:

Well first some of the current MG42 placements should be made constructable like the one near the allies spawn and on the axis side by the tunnel.

A team mg42 constructable at the forward flag could be interesting again like in Fuel Dump near the allies CP

Having the bridge being made buildable like in fueldump could be interesting. Team doors are a must but shouldn’t be all over.

Also if you need servers to help test this I would be more than willing to test it. As this is one of my favorites map in RTCW the fun days when Happy Penguin 2 was all tank all the time… Wasted so many hours of my life playing on this map.

Can’t even imagine the XP total of people after playing this map as I played a few sessions that lasted 6+ hours.

i bet making a murderhole at the end of the hallway near the axis depot (near that acid pit) would be pretty interesting.

|AoD| Sin informed me of this great news!!! We were actually talking about how great it would be to have Tank on ET last week. As far as things to make the game better for ET I am going to post a thread at our forum and see what the members there come up with. I’ll get back to you an Friday and give you the list. There really isn’t much that would need to be changed. I played Tank for months on end without tiring of it. :smiley: It is the best all around map there is. You’ve got everything in one map, areas for every class of character. Minor modifications to small areas are all that should be needed.

Here’s hoping that TANK comes back!!!

Some people think that mp_tank is tilted towards the Allies…even though I have played games there that lasted all night…the longest I’ve seen was near 8 hours long! So really the map is very well balanced.

Some of my suggestions would make it harder for the Allies to get close to the tank room and a bit easier to get near the doc room. Which should help those that feel the Allies have it a bit easier.

My ideas for ET Tank:

–Buildable barracade across road at arch.
–Gun emplacement at end of hall, Axis side lower entrance before heating room…right after the Allies get out of the water…that hallway there…this gun should be destroyable.
–Better sniper nests for Axis side. Maybe a ladder to the roofs of the East and West Bunkers with embattlements or something to hide behind…
–Make it so people cannot get onto the dang dam! :slight_smile: If not then make it easier for the Allies to defend or to be able to use the Dam as easy as the Axis can.
–buildable gun emplacement at entry to hallway of the elevator shaft. This would be a gun placed on a platform over the heated water facing oncoming Allies.
–Have the truck on the bridge to be able to go to the large elevator door and blow it open. To do this the truck should start out at the Allies street and be led to the elevator door. Then explode within a few feet of the door.
–The ability to have the large elevator door blow completely. It just takes a bunch of dyno to do it.
–The ability for either side to destroy/rebuild the bridge.
–Have the Axis spawn somewhere else then the open windows of the West and East Bunker…they are sitting ducks when they spawn there…I say this even though I love to fire my panzer in there right when they spawn :confused: A good place would be the radio room, where there is already a spawn point and at the room at the bottom of the stairs right below the radio room.
–Another tunnel on the other side from the dam. Underwater. This would lead to a tunnel on the Allies side near the flag…up that hill there. On the Axis side the tunnel would lead to the room behind the West Bunker where the bunkbeds are now.
–Instead of having an Allie spawn right outside the doc room put another building opposite side of the road. have them spawn in there.
–More climbable trees for Allied snipers!
–Trees for Axis snipers!
–Another tunnel from the Pumphouse, where the hole is in the floor to the water below, that leads up the road to about where the idling truck is.
–buildable gun emplacement to the left of large elevator door.

Tank is already very close to a perfectly balanced map. If you add team doors this map will not be so fun I think. Especially on the Axis side of the map. It would then tilt the game too far to the Axis.

Well…that’s all the ideas I have atm…

BTW…I also made http://tank.rtcwnews.com if you want that instead for tank :slight_smile:

Yeah this is the first thing that came to my mind when ET came out, is how cool it would be to play mp_tank on ET.

The only changes I can think of are basically the same as above.

  1. Make the bridge buildable and destroyable by both teams.

  2. Also a team door for allied in the pumphouse that leads to the allied doc room.
