ET (Single Player Mod) help

i have always though about making a Single Player mod for Enemy Territory, of course not limited to
Single Player, with the addition of Co-Op or a Squad Based Co-op.

ET has some unique features like the Automap, XP System, the Head Hud, Classes/Squads syringes and better player models then RTCW SP and it would be Free to Play.

Some questions regarding source code.

  1. A.I
    Could the leftover AAS code in ET be used for an A.I System, or is it possible to use Omnibots

I would also need create AI Entities so i can place enemies on the map in Radiant.

  1. Enities

There are some leftover Items from RTCW, including “Item_treasure”, i would like this to give the player XP
for that added RPG style. The XP could be used for buying New Weapons or Items.

I would also need Keys e.g. “Item_key”, for opening locked doors.

Additional Features

Syringe Mixing Station (Inspired from Wolf RPG) (Medic Only ?)

Wolfenstein RPG Mixing Stations

Axis scientists have been developing various concoctions to improve the performance of their soldiers. Go to mixing stations and use these chemical creations to your advantage. You’ll need empty syringes to use each mixing station. Use the ingredients at each mixing station wisely. Once you’ve used up the ingredients at a particular mixing station, you’ll have to find another station to mix more syringes.

Each syringe power up is made up of a total of 3 liquids. You must use a combination of red, blue, and/or green liquids. Here are the possible combinations and the power ups they create.

Gunpowder Mixing Station (Field Op Only)
– Field ops can use these to created Bullets for Guns and enhance the weapons, e.g. explosive Bullets, Ricochet bullets.

These Mixing Stations can be placed on the Map, and using empty syringes and Ammo you can create your own powerups and ammo

This is a Single Player Game that i would like to make if anyone is interested, 3 levels have already being made.

Wolf3D SP (HUD created with etpub hud editor)

The Guard could be an “Axis Soldier” holding a Lugar

SS would hold only the MP40

The map could be played using 5 players, one par class, Medic/Engineer/Soldier/Field Op/Covert Op, similar to left4dead, other class could be added e.g. Scientists like in ETBlight.

Other Single Player Maps can also be made, and RTCW Single Players should be easily ported

Could be used as a possible Story Mode enemy, specially in Wolf3D SP

One of the Additional Points of making this mod is to expand the ET Universe and attract more players, specially people whom are interesting in creating Single Players.

I have made 3 maps already and “The Happy Friar” made one model.

Well majority of the coding on the Doom3 Version is done.including the UI and key-system for locked doors , but we need more Assets, e.g. Textures, Enemies, 3 Guns and map Objects

The Main reason that ET came to mind is that the Head is on the Hud like Wolf3D and ww2 guns, but its missing Single Player code.

Having played with the Idtech engines for so long, i am not sure that i could transition to the Source Engine and i don’t like its map editor.

You can use Omnibots here, you just need to make waypoints for them.

Since ET is based on RTCW code, it wouldn’t be hard to make A.I system as RTCW SP had,since it is Open-Source…

OpenWolf would be good for this.

But it is still in develop :smiley:

The maps are completed. I made them. There are 65 complete maps and I can finish the remaining maps if someone can continue the coding works.

If you start from OpenWolf you’ll have to modify the engine (even if Dushan didn’t remove it like we did in ET:Legacy), because single player is incomplete and broken in W:ET. You would have much easier time using RTCW Coop rather than W:ET for this. On the other hand, only OpenWolf fits your engine requirements.

I’m not that much of a coder, so where in the same boat.

I completed the brushwork for the First Episode consisting of 10 maps.
