ET -Shooter (Mortar)

(fidel castro) #1

Hi,

actually im testing a Mortar Shooter ,which should start firing if a player push a button.

all my test failed, because, if i next to the button in the game…ET freez, and i must restart my f*** m$-system (btw: is there any Linux-Editor for ET ??? )

how would you solve that problem ?
(Aim: every team has its own button to fire on the other side, should be only pressable from one team)

hope you have any idea

thx & bye

fidel

As of today, the CVS HEAD branch of GtkRadiant supports ET. You have to install the ET gamepack manually, though, and make an et.game file. 1.3.10 will be out soon, with et support, if you don’t want to do it yourself.

To make the mortar fire randomly, create a trigger_always, target it at a target_delay, tweak wait and random keys to your liking, target that at a shooter_mortar, and target that at an info_notnull.

i solved it this morning in an other way:

  • triggermutple
  • target effect
  • target delay…but its not randomly g

so i will test your one.

thx

Ok, I got it now.
trigger_always targets target_delay with wait and random keys set
target_delay targets shooter_mortar and a second target_delay with wait set to 0
second target_delay targets first target_delay
shooter_mortar targets info_notnull

(BXpress) #8

huh? :eek2:

target_delay targets shooter_mortar and a second target_delay with wait set to 0

target delay targets second target delay or what? O_o
cant u just make an example map? so we can see hwo to place and where to pace these entities…

lol I realize that this is old, but does any one have that mortar .map? Because I have set it up correctly, (trigger_always, target_delay, shooter_mortar, info_null) and it still doesn’t work.

(Flippy) #19

Shouldn’t it be an info_notnull? Or you could try a target_location instead of the info_null.

(.Chris.) #20

target_locations are totally different thing, they what give you your position name for the fire team locations in etpro, maybe other mods also.
