I’d put my money on a Quakecon related release date if all goes well. Its a great launch event that the fans can enjoy. Obviously though sooner the better. :slight_smile:

Talking of quakecon, does anyone get the impression they’ve had a lot of inquiries about 2006? LOL http://www.quakecon.org/

BTW, id Software’s probably gonna show their next game at this year’s QuakeCon… Carmack promised he’d show something on QC 2005 but he didn’t, so I hope that now they’ll ve ready to announce what they’ve been working on.

Not quite sure what to make of id’s next IP. I can’t imagine a huge departure from existing genres as I doubt even with id’s clout they could convince average joe to buy into it. I’m hoping its something to build on the multiplayer online gaming.

They’re “releasing” it on April the First! But it wont actually be it…It’ll be a box that looks like an official box and stuff, and when you open it, it has a booklet, DVD and everything you’d expect. Then you put the DVD into your drive and this flashy movie sequence shows up. Strogg stabbing ebil humans to death with spear arms and Wils driving a truck off a bridge. Then the music and voice over will fade out, as will the footage…A large bold font will flash on the screen saying “April Fool!”.

It will be the greatest April fool of video gaming history…Better than Doom 3 Fortress!
