That’s right, we’re delaying release until we’re absolutely sure that the events portrayed won’t have actually taken place.
I feel this is a good move as it won’t dissapoint anyone when 2050 rolls around and there are no Strog.
Best to wait… And can you image a game that has been in develoment for 45 years? that game would own.
i tried to imagine … DNF has been in development for approximately that amount of time, maybe less … and i don’t care anymore whether it will be released or not. same applies to stalker.
really, who cares about those two games? when they were announced the first time, there weren’t other similar games. now that you get a new 1st person shooter every week, i think the days of 1st person shooters are over unless there’s some kind of innovation like in Quake Wars. and with innovation i don’t mean graphics.
I really think, even though I won’t be able to buy a PC to play it on for a year or so, that ETQW will be the MP teamplayer game to own all games. Comparisons with BF etc are meaningless from screenshots etc. But I know you know that! 
Release dates are also meaningless. It is ready when it is ready, and I hope they make it really ready before it’s released - whatever date it appears - the later the better!
Splash Damage as a commercial entity have a lot riding on this product and I suspect they’ll want it to be as perfect as possible before they release it. Don’t forget that these guys are Fortress veterans (never played meself, too young :P), the makers of RtCW-community-voted greatest custom map ever, makers of the already wonderful game Enemy Territory (which is so popular it has now become a franchise!!).

But seriously heavensangel0916, don’t worry bout release dates, just know that when it comes out, it’s gonna be the best multiplayer game you have ever played!!
