ET Modding Website

(Spark) #1

Hi,

does anyone know any good websites were one would go to discuss ET modding directly? Is there any such “general” modding site, besides moddb? I’m talking about a website where things like code snippets, tutorials, mod news etc would be published, so this forum alone doesn’t qualify.
If there is no such place yet (which covers ET at least partly), I wonder if it would make sense to set one up for ET mod news and development? I couldn’t do it alone, but I’d definitely help if some people would gather to pull this off. What I could and would do for it includes coding some scripts for the website, setting up and administrating a phpBB (if necessary), writing code tutorials and of course writing news. Someone else would have to do the design though (I could do a cheap one) and getting quality hosting for this shouldn’t be too difficult if it turns out well.
Personally I believe that the ET mod community could very well become large enough to justify such a website, considering that the game is free, the mod community around it could basically live as long as the engine isn’t completely outdated. However, I’m not sure if interest in it is already big enough to find enough people who would be willing to help, so what do you say?

www.modtheater.com

This is a site for dedicated and serious modders of several games: MOHAA, CoD and now RTCW:ET. We have numerous mods planned for the ET engine; both conversions of mods from MOHAA and new ones. Three of the mods coming to ET have their own forums. The general ET modding forums just opened last week, but they are starting to take off. ET modders are especially welcome. We have big plans for this puppy. We have 6000+ members and there is almost always somebody there to share ideas with. Forum moderaters are picked based on their knowledge of the forum subject.

Well, I wasn’t really thinking of another forum… I’d like to check it out, but the links at the top (News, Forums, Downloads, Tutorials) don’t work here (Mozilla).
