ET maps to Q3

I’m ‘trying’ to make a movie intro, and really want to use the beach map for it… but in Q3 (Q3 has far better editing tools for what i want to achieve). Does anyone know of a way to convert ET maps to Q3? I’m not caring about items, doors, objectives etc, i just want the map itself as it’s all going to be shot outside.

Note: I’m a nooblar jabbins when it comes to mapping, so the easier the better please :slight_smile:

You would have to decompile the RTCW map, strip the RTCW related entities, rearrange textures and recompile for Q3.
You also need the textures of the map for Q3.

Actually very time consuming work.

Edit:

What about the player models?

BTW brushwork has also to be edited (structural + detail).

I’ve got the mp_beach.bsp and q3map2, i want to convert it 1st of all so i can see what needs to be done afterwards… 1 step at a time. I’m sure it will require some work, i didn’t expect it to be too easy. I have the command line below, but obviously im missing some parts…

“-game et -convert -format quake3”

No need to decompile anything as mp_beach’s map file was supplied with the RtCW map editor. It comes bundled with GTKRadiant too, try Wolf example maps from GTKRadiant’s nightly build repository.
