ok,im new here.but i had an idea and was curious if the guys at splashdamage could answer it.

i was having a disscusion with some of py pals about ET,and the different maps.when one of them started onto the topic of a mp_marketgarden map for ET.has there been any idea’s of a marketgarden for ET.the first one for RTCW was great and i still play it on =TSG=marketgarden and your server.

At the moment there is no plans by Splash Damage to convert the RTCW Marketgarden map to ET.

No offense to Market Garden but come on guys, can’t we try something original instead of regurgitating older maps?

I’d much rather look forward to custom mappers creating something new, born from their own creative juices, than people trying to recreate Market Garden or mp_beach etc. Yeah I know you’re asking if SD wil do MG but the principal of what I say is the same.

If you wanna give us anything then give us new new new!!! Hey why don’t we recreate Counter Strike maps for ET - oh no even better lets get Jedi Knight II maps playable in ET because some of them were cool!

No doubt the MG lovers will slate me for saying this!

Hmmm… I don’t know… remember that 75% (or whatever) people who have never played Wolf and are now playing ET haven’t seen Market garden. Plus a big map like that would be nice to have…

Although, it doesn’t fit in with a campaign yet. And… there really isn’t much use for… mines… and who knows if mortar would work.

But… new maps take tiiiiiiime. Using a map that already has the brushwork laid down would save a lot of time and would only benefit gamers.

I’d rather see some of the unfinished ET maps come out, rather than marketgarden updated. OTOH, if you did release MG for ET, I wouldn’t complain. :notworthy:

There is a thread elsewhere promoting a conversion of MG to ET. I would support it only if SD could put the time and energy into making more of an ET map rather than a RtCW map. It would essentially be a whole new map that would share some of the same features and textures.

Should it be created, I would hope that the dual-objective nature persist.

It would need:
Limited-access doors for the sneaky covertOps.
Buildable structures.
Spawns that are protected from mortar fire.
A flag that you actually WANT to hold.

But not in small LAN Sessions without Bots and only 6 players. :-7
