ET map downloads

This is sort of beside the general editing topic, so I’m unsure of whether this one actually should rather be in the General Discussion forum…

Anyway, I’m seeing several new websites coming up hosting new ET maps, but wouldn’t it be a good idea of someone to create a site that used the http://<yourwebsite>/etmain/ structure to give access to the maps.
Never mind the design of the html code on top to present the maps for public manual download, but if all maps were placed as original files in an ETMAIN folder on the webserver, they would be available for general http-redirected download from gameservers, as it is now, everyone has to host their own files.

Ok, I realize that this could potentially require huge amounts of bandwidth, but so would probably manual download as well.

Just a thought.

I use the following URL on my server:

http://www.student.uit.no/~paalde/games/aw/maps/etmain/

The server is on a fast University network in Northern Norway (europe), 133Mbit backbone all the way to USA and internal gigabit networks. More information about me and the server at http://www.ekran.no/aw/

I publish most of the new maps on this server, but I won’t publish/use maps that aren’t properly named, like that beach map where all versions are called beach.pk3.
