ESL.eu Section for Extraction is open!

(.Chris.) #21

There were cups for Open Beta not closed. The game was at quakecon though towards the end of the closed beta.

Teams were invited to etqw closed beta and from memory, many didn’t give that much feedback and others simply used the time to practice for the inevitable cash prizes that awaited them at release and buggered off once the cash went away.

I hope this doesn’t happen again, when more teams start pouring in I hope they give constructive feedback and suggestions to keep the game alive longer and not simply take advantage of the early access, something that frankly sounds like all you’re still hanging around for based on your posts.

You live and learn in this regard, feedback is certainly the most valuable thing to us (and we do try and read it all).

On the ESL front we have been talking to them, but as you rightly point out its not something we want to rush straight into throwing cash around.
where else?

CB and 4pl`? esea? =D
The community’s own system - like EvacZone with TB
The best solution imo would be an own comp. system.

That.

+1 for own competiton system, for example it works good in TF2.

I think ESL/CB/4P whatever are historic dinosaurs and wont exist in their current form for more years. Playing comp has to be very comfy for the majority of players to be attractive and this is were League of Legends ist the best example.

The ESL doesnt really attract new players and things like premium, trusted player etc. are just again unnecessary for the majority of players.

Please forget about “Look for a Team, register for the ESL, enter your GAME ID, sign up for XonX, get premium/trusted”. Thats not how it works anymore.

This is also why I think that Nexon is not bad at all for Extraction, because im sure they will think not in the same but in a very similar way. Why would u pay companies like the ESL, when u can do it better on your own and finally get more revenues from the attraction tournaments have to players?

I dont want to overact, but we are currently in a situation where competitive gaming has changed and will change drastic and the current solution which is “ESL Versus” doesnt statisfy me.
x1000

If SD and nexon are serious they’ll run the show first party. If ESL wants to do their thing, all the merrier. Just don’t let them or the likes be the main venue.

The 2 companies that do this successfully are Valve & Riot. Both companies have major cashflow and lots spare so devoting resources is pretty easy for them. I have already made myself clear to some members of Splash Damage that I’m willing to help them out if and when needed.

(Anti) #27

Are you saying you have major cashflow and a lot to spare? In which case I’m sure we’re interested

Gold digging son of a gun. I wish I did!

(Bangtastic) #29

I would pay to support such a first party system  for lifetime vip status (even postmortem)^^

The Swiss and their bank accounts. Help a brother out.

In LoL and CS:GO u get matched with players. So in the end you are playing with 4 other persons, who joined the queue for a ranked match. ( similar to ESL Versus )

But: All you need is your Log-In and the Game - Launcher.

You can raise and fall to higher/lower - skillbrackets.

All this is build in the game launcher and works flawless and very comfy.

This works very well for everyday-competition. Ofc. REAL teams dominate the e-sport in LOL, so there is basically no disadvantage for classic Teams.

There still can play 5on5 against other teams ( not random ppl. teams ! ) via. the Launcher and dont need to look for components an hour or so. And if they want, they can join third-party tournaments / leagues etc.

That’s not competition, that’s public fun with random strangers.

What has match making now to do with the leagues?
