ok, here we go.

when i try to load my map, using the /devmap … command my map doesn’t load and i get the following message :

Cvar_update: handle out of range

before loading my map i went in console and wrote following

/sv_pure 0
/g_gametype 2
/devmap thawoods_test

it then goes to loading screen but stays blocked in awaiting challenge status, then the message above appears

what must i do to test my map??? :???:

argg, why doesn’t anything go right for me :frowning:

did u delete all the files from et??

cause u might have a faulty file in there, probally downloaded from a server while playing on there.

So i dont mean just uninstall, but really delete all the files and install again(after u made sure u saved ur maps and other stuff u made urself to a different directory)

Delete the server pk3 files that get put in when you join a server that has a custom map cycle.
Be observant, because some are called pak5.pk3 etc. They disguise as vital files, but are not needed.

(InFeStEd) #10

These are mainly little nasty pk3 that show you a certain clan message when you use it… delete it ,it has no use.

Here we go ( © )

Press Escape to deselect everything, then right-click inside your map from any 2D view and select ‘info/info_player_deathmatch’. This creates what’s known as an ‘entity’. In Radiant you can move it around just like a brush, but in game the entities function any number of ways (a light for example). This particular entity we’ve created is the spawn point of Spectator mode in game. You need this somewhere inside your map for it to start, so move it where you see fit and press Escape to deselect.

Now we do the same thing again, but this time choose ‘team/team_CTF_bluespawn’ from the menu to create a spawn point for one team. Move this inside your map, positioned about 32 away from the floor. Add our last entity in the same manner, choosing ‘team/team_CTF_redspawn’ for the opposite teams spawn point. Now, finally we can compile. The good news is, you only have to do all this once, providing you plan ahead and don’t keep changing the size of your map.

Hope It helped

try his

/g_gametype 2
/sv_pure 0
/developer 1
/devmap yourmap

wait till your map is loaded

/generatetracemap

and bring up the limbo menu

also make sure that you set your
minmapcoords and maxmapcoords in your worldspawn
