Error on map load. cvar_update: handle out of range

I have been doing map design on one computer and recently began working on another computer, but when I try to open a map in ET I get an error that says:

cvar_update: handle out of range

Does anyone no why I am getting this. :frowning:

i had this problem before. there are some posts somewhere in this section regarding the same problem. if i remember correctly and if the the posts are right, its something to do with erroneous downloads from a server, possibly one of ther packs, that is fucking things up.
one of the posts suggested deleting all non essential stuff in ur etmain folder, not important stuff like pk3 files. i tried this and messed et up. in the end i had 2 totally uninstall et and started afresh. i lost all the maps i had downloaded in 6 months (and thats a lot of maps :wink: ) but it cleared the problem. since then ive avoided going random servers and only ones i know!! that said im sure theres an easier way to sort the problem!
