************ ERROR ************ MAX_MAP_VISIBILITY exceeded

Hi guys!

I’ve just started mapping again to finish an older project but now when I’m trying to compile the final bsp for the map I get the following error when VIS compiling starts:

************ ERROR ************
MAX_MAP_VISIBILITY exceeded

I’ve googled the error and everywhere I read suggestions to make the map more ‘detailed’ instead of structural… made sense for me because the map was like 90% structural. So now I’ve changed every possible brush into a detailed brush but I still get the same error message!

Does anybody know another solution to fix this error? Because I really cant make more detail brushes.

Thanks! :penguin:

uhm …

  • Worldspawn and add Key:_blocksize Value: 2048 2048 2048
  • create more detail-brushes xD
  • maybe your map is too big (cant remember the max-coordinates atm)
  • Also make sure to use caulk on any non-visible faces

(oops … didnt saw x-dos’s post)

Doh! Overlooked a huge section of structural brushes in a big area of the map… VIS is compiling now  thanks anyway

I’m not sure but wasn’t there some compile option with -notrunk or something like that so it would work too?
