ERROR: Could not find material/submaterial for id

I was hoping this wasn’t going to be a problem when I was using 2.5.11-test’s and that it’d all be fine in the final…unfortunately this is not the case.

ASE models are what are causing this error, once you get into the map after these errors certain textures (most in fact now) don’t show up anymore on the ASE’s. These ASE’s worked fine in 2.5.10 .

Can you post or send me the ASE model?

BirdDawg rewrote the ASE code to handle subobjects/submaterials in 2.5.11, so it’s possible something got missed handling models w/o those features.

Did you get the email? Outlook was giving me all kind of grief so you either didn’t get it, got it ok or got it several hundred times…I apologise if it’s the last one but Outlook tried to use Hotmail to send it to start and Hotmail no like files thru Outlook for me…

I Finally got round to trying out 2.5.11, and I too am getting this error with
some of my .ase models …

I must also say that radiant(1.3.13) which I have also just installed, is
giving this error too.

here is one of the models that is causing the error:

Fixed, or at least crutched up.

Back up the model.dll in your GtkRadiant/modules directory, and replace it with this version:

http://akiba.shaderlab.com/GtkRadiant/plugins/model/Release/model.dll

Then download the equivalent build of Q3Map2 with the fix here:

http://akiba.shaderlab.com/GtkRadiant/tools/quake3/q3map2/Release/q3map2.exe

This should address your problem. Let me know if it does.
