I just wanted to share a couple of ideas. I have so far two female merc ideas. Why female ? Because so far DB’s merc roaster has mainly male characters. For the sake of character diversity, I though that adding more female mercs was a good idea.

Ability 1 : Safety Wall. The safety wall is expended in front of Bulwark. It is a wide shield that can sustain a fair amount of damage, pretty much like how Phantom’s Refractive Armor works : the shield lasts up to 10 seconds and enemies shooting the shield will reduce its duration. Has a cooldown of 30 seconds. Bulwark can’t sprint and use her weapons while the ability is triggered, but she can use her defibrillators in conjunction with her safety wall.
Ability 2 : Defibrillator. No need to describe it to you.
Basically, I thought that a medic with a high hp value could be something cool. Since high hp usually means big advantage in combat, I made sure that she wouldn’t get such a big combat advantage than other medics by giving her machine pistols as primary. She can’t heal : unlike other medics she’s made to prevent damage, not healing them. This is compensated by the fact that she can revive people somewhat safely in conjunction with her ability.

Ability 1 : Objective Specialist. No need to explain.
Ability 2 : Air Control (Passive). Spread penality while jumping reduced by 50%.
Ability 3 : Mobility enhancer (help me to find another name, this one sucks). Increase speed by a fixed +50 value and increase jumping height and lenght by 20% (includes jumping, long jumping and wall jumping). Lasts 8 seconds. Cooldown of 20 seconds.
The goal here was to create another offensive engineer. At first I wanted to make her a 120 hp merc, but I felt like a speedy 120hp merc would attract a lot of whine. She’s ovbiously not a shotgun user as well since a good number of people already complain a lot about shotgun mercs jumping around. I wanted here to create a merc with an aerial gameplay. Her hp value is still below average but high enough to break the habits of most of players. Meanwhile her low hp value and lack of front loaded damage does not make hopper’s job that easy against a decent player. She’s obviously a good flanker.
I wanted at first to make her air control passive remove all kind of spread penality, but I felt like it would attract way too much whine. If needed, the air control passive can go, and it’ll just be applied as another bonus from her 3rd ability.
