Do coronas count towards the final map entity count? I’ve been adding quite a few into my map and will have to stop (and cut back on several) if they do. Hopefully they are compiled into some form of billboard sprite, but I get the sinking feeling they are not
entity counts and coronas
nope, they are entities.
The max entities is ridiculously high, i wouldnt worry to much about it. Just dont add like… 4 around every light and u will be ok.
Just hit the ‘m’ key in radiant and it will tell you how many entities you have, and how many of which kind of entity you have. Also it will tell you your total brush count and your non-entity brush count.
The entity count is not that high. It’s 1024. And that includes players, etc. Recommended limits are to work at around 600-700 entities max.
I was aiming for one corona per light, but there’s no way I’m going to be able to do that. Time to strip a few out…
Fortunately, kind of, ET doesn’t use locations so you don’t have to use around 100 target_locations anymore. Although personally I’d rather see the locations back despite the limits they impose.
Oh, and the entity limits in Radiant (pressing m) - ignore the total. It includes lights and info_nulls that get stripped out during compile. You have to use (total - num_lights - num_info_null)
