Enormous lack of stopwatch servers!

Hi SD,

I’m not sure who is managing the servers. So I’ve told this on the Nexon forums aswell.

Currently all the stopwatch servers are full. And the amount of stopwatch servers is miniscule. Can you add some EU and USA stopwatch servers to the game or are we forced to play on the AUS servers? It’s annoying to play on an AUS stopwatch server just so I can complete a daily mission.

This is a screenshot of the continuous situation from 8 hours ago up untill now:

2 SW servers is just a bad joke…

My guess is that this could be a sign that casual Stopwatch is on the way out, which is something I would completely agree with.

In the long run, I think it would be healthiest to stick with Objective (and possibly other game modes) for casual, and combine Stopwatch with competitive settings. Of course that will require the possibility to easily set up Stopwatch servers on demand for scrims and such, which doesn’t exist yet.

I kind of agree, although sometimes you might want a quick SW game and not want to risk having to commit to a full game (as you would/should with matchmaking). Also at the moment there is nothing to tell you how long you might wait for a SW MM game…I’ve only played in one.

Also SW servers are the high-skill haven. You join SW if you want an intense game against a bunch of good players. Regardless of who wins/loses/drops halfway through etc.

Its the little brother of casual 5v5 matchmaking.

Yeah, I can see the arguments for that but I think this is a temporary situation caused by the small playerbase. Once the game is unleashed, I see two things happening:

  1. Competitive MM will work really well, so you can find games almost instantly.

  2. Casual SW servers, if they still exist, would be filled with newbies just like any other casual mode, so no more high skill haven.
