Enigma on Phantom

Hey guys,

So, Enigma is supposed to lower the duration of you being spotted by 50%… does anyone have the exact mechanics of how does works?
I don’t play vassili but what it seems to be is that theres a radius around the circle that refreshes the spotted debuff… and when you get away from that radius, the debuff lasts for X amount of time. is this correct?

So, in some ways, enigma would help Phantom counter his counter because it will allow him to use his cloak sooner?

If I’m incorrect please let me know, Just trying to figure out the mechanics  without having to run tests on it to get the basics

Honestly, that’s one of the augments I never really paid much attention and I’m not sure it’s on any of the loadouts I consistently use. So despite my hours I am not sure how it works.

However, I was under the impression that there was a 50% chance that each heartbeat pulse won’t detect you as opposed to the 100% chance you have without the augment.

I doubt it works like this. A mechanic affected by RNG in a FPS game is simply a very bad idea. And Splash Damage seems to know how to do a multiplayer shooter.

It would fall under the same category as, “useful but not something to rely on winning you fights” like how you would classify most other augments (not that impactful). Dunno. It could easily be tested though. I do know I’ve had people run through the house on Trainyard with a heartbeat sensor placed where there is zero places to hide and they haven’t been spotted. That’s the basis for my assumption but it’s definitely only an assumption.

If you get spotted, you’ll be visible with the red dot on you for a t period. If you have enigma, the period will be t/2. At least, it’s how I think it works :p. So yes, if you’re fast enough, you should be able to enable your cloak faster… Unless you’re still in the radius of the sensor which will detect you once again.
