@darksider: Firepower here referring to dealt by the class (& ofc received by targets). Damage per second or per shot or other raw statistics are irrelevant without context. You might as well say, dps is the be all and end all of weapon statistics and what is this accuracy thing right here?
Engineer Turrets (Don't you think that...)
These are the people I was talking about so quick to shout something is OP when obviously something needs to be done to tweak and buff turrets.
Whether it be making them more stealthy so that they have a chance to react and do there job or tweaking the reaction time so they respond faster something needs to be done.Either that or give it a big health boost so it can survive the onslaught of grenades and fire and have a chance to react.

Would you like a system where you can choose attachments for your turrets pre match in the same way you build your gun? Or allow ability upgrades? Or allow in game buffs to turrets?
In a way it could be self balancing if your turrets have a pyro attachment for instsance. Brilliant for the right place at the right time but useless at range in the wrong place. but that’s the risk you take when you choose the turret build cos your stuck with it all game!
I definitely think turret response time and tracking could be a bit faster. As of now they are more of a nusiance (sp?) than anything else. I guess the larger problem with buffing turrets is what happens if defense runs all engies and sets up 8 turrets which is certainly a possibility in pub play (not comp as they are limited to 1 turret with most rulesets).
I feel turrets are just about right because as you touched on, a team can set up multiple and there are already chokepoints in the game. like many mechanics in this game, the turrets are meant to slow progress because the clock is the ultimate enemy.

These are the people who make themselves look idiotic, did you even read what my response was to and furthermore where in my comment I said the Turret was OP seriously? Or you just decided to pick my comment out of the blue and call it something it was not to make your rant possible? Got2balls? more like GrowABrain.
Yeah, the reaction time of the turrets is abysmal. By the time it locks on, the enemy already whizzed past them. I enjoy playing the Engi but this really is a downer for me.
Are you stupid kid I was siding with you in reference to what that kid commented about your post when you did not mention anything about buffing the damage of turrets. Maybe your the one that needs to grow a brain and learn how to read a post.
I think everyone just needs to accept the fact that the turrets aren’t meant to be intelligent and powerful like they are in TF2 b/c your engineer character already brings a lot to the table without the turrets between buffs, whatever weapons are equipped and 2x mines. At best, turrets can generally be counted on to soak up the first grenade based on the fact that they’re deployed and maybe a few more if the enemy is intent on totally removing it.
I don’t even bother spending the 3 points for the turrets anymore if I respec b/c those 3 points feel a bit wasted since the turrets are almost entirely useless more often than not. 2 mines, the armor buff, imp damage, an smg & the sea eagle are all I need. Those 3 points are so much better to spend in other classes that the idea of putting them into the turrets at this point is almost laughable vs the additional abilities you can pickup for the other classes.

I agree with your first paragraph. Not so sure after that. Like everything else in the game, the turrets serve a purpose and are more effective than some perceive them to be. Some are quick to write certain things off if they fail them too many times. But the same may not be said by someone who knows where, when, and how best to use them.
No you are you don’t quote someone and place a comment like this under it “These are the people I was talking about so quick to shout something is OP when obviously something needs to be done to tweak and buff turrets.”
It insinuates the person you quoted, next time specify why you’re quoting, save us all the trouble next time…

Well I quoted you because throughout my thread we have been discussing ideas and I told you on one yours posts that would never happen and the name of the game was compromise if you had been paying attention to our conversation then you would have realized this. I’ll refresh your memory
I say for the turret to be really effective they need to be able to lock on you instantly, no buff or anything else is needed, if they change turrets to lock on target as soon as they appear then you now have formidable turrets.

I would be all for that but I know that is not going to happen compromise is the name of the game my friend so am trying to workout a compromise for all those haters of turrets out there that are so quick to say something is OP hence the suggestions above.
It is not game changing or improving them in anyway it simply gives them a chance to do what they are intended to do fire at enemies by giving them a bit more concealment to help them have a chance to do so.
Anyways I apologize you thought my comment was directed at you was trying to quote what you were saying so you knew I was speaking to you in regards to what we had already talked about now back to my thread

They don’t have to be like TF2 no one has suggested they be killing machines if you read my OP you would see that I was simply suggesting giving them someone like better concealment in order for them to atleast have a chance to start firing at enemies because as it stands now they sit there unactive then get blown up which is a waste of an ability in the game, skill points and Pips.
Also I didn’t know that the Devs intented turrets to be used “At Best” to soak up the enemy teams grenades if they wanted it to be used like that why not simply give them the ability to create cover or use a riot shield what does just that. Seems a bit naive to believe that they intended for them to be this useless and be used simply to soak up grenades when they had to put alot of work into the mechanics/animation and design of a turret.
