This is very rough idea and I am not sure if it would work in game like I imagine. Maybe it have some potential maybe not, we’ll see.
My idea is about throwable device which could temporary ‘trigger’ (destroy/repair generator, open/close gate, depending what is beneficial for team) secondary objective.
That device is described with several stats, such as:
- Health when non active - detecting it early should be rewarding, thus less durability.
- Health when active.
- Vulnerability - more damage from bullets or explosions?
- Setup time - how long it takes to activate.
- Radius effect - smaller radius will require more precise throws, it would be easier for enemy to guard vulnerable object.
- Duration - definetely short, few seconds max.
- Cooldown.
- Secrecy - should enemies be alarmed when merc succesfully ‘hack’ objective?
Usage and results:
This ability could be used to gain momentary control over area, switching certain gates (or something) in the right time would be crucial step to win match. This kind of diversion could use help from recon who can scan the area to make sure if it is safe to act.
What is you opinion? It has potential or the concept is flawed? Would it be fair/healthy to play with and against?
