Eng with mines AND automatic weapon.

srsly, why don’t we have it?
u cant use eng in attack. shotguns are too close-range. and turrets just dont work in attack :slight_smile: but mines DO work in attack.
this class is used now only because of it’s repair/defuse abilities. this is actually not very interesting for any player.
if u take eng - u know that next several minuts u are going to play in a very limited and specific way.
why for example Firesupport is universal? useful for both defs and attackers?

I think we need to test a engie with mines and an automatic gun, like trex has.

eng was my most played class in etqw. so i realy like this class. but in Ex it is not enjoyable yet.

which can get a huge balance problem :/.mines are realy strong at some points,after the elevator on waterloo as example.

I wish only the sniper rifle had ironsight zoom… frankly I hate the zoom on ironsights it makes the game feel janky.

I think it’s not every character have acces to every weapons. It does not make sens if so.

We’re currently looking at each character being allowed to choose from a handful additional weapons that share a similar combat range and effectiveness to the default loadout.

For example, Proxy could be allowed to choose a different shotgun or a close-range SMG. She might also be allowed to swap out her Machine Pistol for a different one or instead take along a regular/heavy Pistol.

I had a similar view, but have played proxy for the last couple of weeks and found it to be fine in attack or defense. you just have to adjust your style of play and use the map to suit the range of the weapon.

So currently engineers are ruled out for me as the SMG is pretty useless, even up close and the shotgun I just can’t get the hang of (though everyone else seems to be able to 1-shot me with it from miles away). I also don’t like the ‘you’re a field ops therefore you have to play mid-range’, ‘you’re an engineer so you have to play CQC’ either, too restrictive - remember the nade launcher engy from ET? That was a fun class to play - you could spam your noobstick at range or get in close with the pliers but your short-range weapon ability was limited as a balance. Pretty much all the chars in Xt are slotted into short/medium/long range (I know this was a design goal) which makes teamwork all the harder imho, esp. on pub.

how about more cross-range classes?
not just close range, but close/mid.
this would be very usefull and propose a variety tactics for players.
i mean different ex-t-rex chars.
we have 2 close range egnies and only one close/mid.

as a matter of fact. ALL chars should be cross range.
i feel that we realy lack something big in fun when we are left to play only one tax, for ex. only close . i dont like being restricted, noone is. And engies are a must for a team. (obj-oriented class). so if i like to contribute to my team, to play eng why am i to be punished with poor scanty types of how can i effectively play?
