Yay for SD, this looks jolly good so far. Lovely screens and good teaser trailer, can’t wait for more. Ignoring the worryingly WW2 obsessed RTCW fanboys, reaction over the net seems to have been great so far, with everyone impressed with what they’ve seen. Roll on 2006.

And btw plz fuck the doom engine, runs crap on non-nvidia based pc’s. So dont go for the uber graphics and focus more on the gameplay

To me, this is an excellent idea. The replay value of human vs. human combat is like 1000x that of any single player game… with the possible exception of solitare or tetris :moo:
When asked about what kind of game modes Quake Wars would have, Cloud offered that the concept of game modes didn’t really apply, since each of the game’s missions will play out very differently
Please keep stopwatch mode, or something like it. This was one of the really excellent innovations of RTCW, and it allows you to make asymetrical maps (and teams) balance.

When can we start making maps?
I guess it will be very similar to DOOM3 mapmaking/scripting, so you can start with DOOM3 now and when the tools for ET:QW are released you only need to learn the adds.
i do hope that the editor will become friendlier. the doom editors always sucked and still sucks. best ie easiest ingame editor i’ve seen so far was the one from far cry. too bad that in that case the game sucked.
My suggestion for the editor: Make it a loadable module instead of being hard linked into the game .exe like doom, and ship the source with the ‘game code’

As far as i’m concerened the game looks great, Planetside was great and this will be even better due to all the new advances in gaming technology. Best of luck with it.
When Return To Castle Wolfenstein 2 does get released and i say " when " not " if " because it’s a franchise that’s a sure fire earner and it will be picked up, it will be Game Of The Year again and blow all other f.p.s. titles right out of the water, watch and see m8. You guys have " missed the boat " on this one.

So you’re saying RTCW has more of a following than Quake? Are you mad? I can’t say for sure, but I would also say that picking up a specific award like that came as more of a nice surprise to SD, rather than it being an outright goal from the start. What they probably aimed to do is make a fun and well made game, which they’ve succeeding in doing.
I’m sure there will be ups and downs for SD as with any dev company, choices must be made in one direction or another - but I’ll put money on QW ET being a winner…

ok now to make terain like that in the current editor would take some time and there is 10-12 maps i read somewhere, so is there some kinda of terain editor for QW that has been made to import the terain into radient… i supose it easygen is kinda of what ide expect but i found it very hard to get into and would expect something more ComandAndConquer generals style… for the terain at least
2nd to the QW suporters/rtcw loyalist… ime not saying anyhting agains QW or spash damage or rtcw for that matter, but all the major games coming out seem to folow the same rules and gamemodes etc… and people are stuck on rtcw or very specific games idea, wouldnt you actauly see some fresh new blood… i know i sertainly would, it seems that the same idea are being done to death idea love soemthing new, new concept, new gameplay, something no1 has though of yet… maby QW will be the game that does that but we cant all play rtcw forever
