Enemy Territory: QUAKE Warsâ„¢ Announced!

(Salteh) #61

Why would this game freak you out? Disappointment that the next Enemy Territory is not a wolfenstein game?
This isn’t RTCW2,so that’s likely to be in development somewhere else like mono said.

I think it’s just another cool game for us to play
What I did was point out in a not-so-kind way that this is not rtcw2. This is the internet, things like that happen. I never disrespected your opinions, didn’t tell you to like this game…
just got tired of people going on about et2 not being rtcw2 and I wrote a silly reply…

all negative feedback? I have read 100´s of posts on different sites cheering about ET:QW just from a copule of screens and a short storyline and what more can I say but the fact that I agree totally. ET:QW does look very promising as it differs a lot from BF, UT2k4 and the other vehicle onslaught games. Here we have what we like, skills, tactics, constructed stuff to blow up just to rebuild it again. I am tbh really looking forward to give ET:QW a shot, some minimum requirements would be fun though to read aswell as some more information. Based on what we have so far it looks just like the game is presented in an early Alpha version.

About all RTCW2 talk, we are all awaiting news about our precious wolf sequel but this thread is not the place to discuss it. This thread is dedicated to the upcoming ET:QW.

Nice work on the screenshots, looks very cool. I like the move to a sci-fi mileau- I think it suits the new tech and a futuristic setting allows more possibilities for artistic and gameplay invention.

I have just read so many posts that are from people who have built the hype up themselves in terms of what SD was doing.
So-what, it isn’t “RTCW2”, how’s about you go hibernate a bit and we’ll wake ur complaining butts when it arrives, ok ? :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

P.S. I’ll even have pancakes ready for when you wakee :chef:

(TFate) #65

He’s lying. The pancakes will definitely be gone.

(ParanoiD) #66

Bah, i’d like to have a pancake…

To Bani: If you want ponies you should wait for: Enemy Territory: Castle wars :). There you would be able to ride ponies and kill your enemy’s with a knife…

Ok ontopic now…
My very first reaction was just what a cool game, looks great and i still think it does :). I like the vehicules in it aswell. It would take mins to cross the battlefield if it would be as big as BF1942. Now you are just playing alone in ET, at least you can, using a medic as engineer to win is helpful aswell, but as i said, you can do it on ur own aswell. With the big distances I think you will need more teamwork aswell. 1 team defending the base, and the other team or maybe 2 teams will attack from 1 or 2 sides. Just put some medics and engineers, covertops or whatever in a tank. Drive to your enemy’s bunker and blow the stuff up and win. Just see the tanks, heli’s and whatever as a transport from your base to the enemy. I think you could see this game more like this altough I never played BF1942 online, I know the maps are very big and you would need transport, or you would liket o play 2 hours on 1 map in my eyes to cross the battlefield…

For the ones who dont like it and would like to have a (codename for us gamers) RTCW2, I saw a nice mod for ET: http://www.priceofpeace.net/

Just hurry up and finish it so we can play it and then either slag it off or praise it based on actual experience. When’s it out anyway? Oh and hurry up

This is great news! Congratulations, Locki and the rest of the Splash Damage team. The premise got me all pumped, and I’m confident you guys can make a great game. Since after you guys started hiring people I knew you had something cooking, but in the end the announcement just blew me away. This is gonna be cool.

For people dissing it “because it’s not ET”: think about your position just a little. If you want to play ET, there’s ET. You can continue playing it. Nobody will steal it from you.

You just don’t seriously expect developers to release the same thing over and over again, do you? Personally, I think we should compliment Splash Damage for getting a project as big and as important as this one. This shows they’ve proved they can pull off some great gameplay, and now they have a new chance that they can do this with an AAA+ title. I’m not only happy for them, but happy because I expect we’ll get a hell of a good game.

Having your opinion set in stone and blaming a developer because they’re not doing what pleases your mind isn’t the right way to find something you like. I find it funny that 99% of the opinions right here on Splash Damage’s site - by ET ‘fans’ - are negative while, at the same time, the opinions are 100%+ positive on Shacknews.com, and people there are actually freaking out for a game like this. I was a heavy RTCW player myself and played a lot of ET and I’m really looking forward to this game; It’ll have stroggs, it will be set on the future? Yeah, but so what? It will still carry on the teamplay/class balance ET is known for, and the gameplay and care Splash Damage is know for, and that’s what’s good. Not the fictious date it’s set, or the nationality of the enemies.

Sincerely enough, haters can take their money elsewhere, or continue playing ET. Guess what: you have choice. Whining won’t take you anywhere.

I think this looks shredding.

All I ask is down sight aiming

(Salteh) #70

I just found :

 :moo:

(Nail) #71

The only prob I have with vehicles stems from trying to play Joint Ops, bunch of players spawn, 1 immature player runs directly to only troop transport, flys off solo to cries of “wait, wait” and promptly crashes into ground, mountain, his own team or the only gunship defending the base. Way worse than rambo medics imo

(Floris) #72

The biggest problem I have is that I cant play it in a window :frowning: (I seem to have no time to play games, unless you can play and do other things on the pc at the same time)

(Joe999) #73

the biggest problem i have is that i’m afraid that this game won’t be released before 2006 as i’m pretty sure that Quake IV will come first.

damn, i’m so ready for ET:QW

(fozzer) #74

i know its early days …i was wondering if a demo vers will precede the full release of the actual game … then everyone can have a taster and make a decision on wether to open the wallet or not :drink: … the screenshots look the business but as always the only thing that interests me is what the MP plays like online

(rov) #75

such a sad day for all the wolfers
everyone i talk with says they cant wait for rtcw2, and they’le wait in line for it the day it comes out
ppl were actually looking foreward to rtcw2…

guess we dont have to worry about that anymore

jeez talk about a piece of crap

aliens vs earth… wow
talk about a pile of shit tbh
just wow

(M8DNephelim) #76

i guess rov haven´t read a single word of what have been said here …

(Brevik) #77

It’s not just rov though, I can’t believe how many people have missed one of the most important points…

Still, it looks damn good.

Can’t wait to see what it’s like to map for too.

(P.S. Salteh you are a bad, nasty, sarcastic man - we shall take away your riflenades, and you shall have to play Rambo medic instead ;))

(Salteh) #78

I’ll have to take my own life then

/kill - aaaaaaaargh :frowning:

(pyke) #79

looks good, looking forward to mp:test :stuck_out_tongue:
