i play et, because of the wwII story. if et:qw would change that i’ll stop playing et:qw,or iwill never start with it.
iplayed rtcw(wwII) i play now et (wwII) and i will play et:qw but just if it iswwII too.i dont like futur, or present-games. to realsitic,i could go down to iraq if i want to shoot with a m4 or someting else. more fun nazisagainst allies :smiley:

If it isn’t already obvious, ET:QW won’t be set in World War II (or WWI for that matter :)).

I’m having a little difficulty understanding how you could find Earth vs Strogg too realistic, but not Axis vs Allies - given that the former involves aliens attacking earth, and the latter is based on a real conflict in history. Ah well :slight_smile:

Co-OP is stupid for ET. Its following is clan based, competition minded players. Thats what ET is, and thats what ET:QW will be. For peeps who want to play co-op, go play xbox or some other console. I never finished the SP version of Wolf, and neither has a lot of my clan mates. Same for SP mode. There are 20 medal of honors out there to play , as well as Doom3 and quake4 if you want a single player experience.

CS is full of freakin adolecents(sp?). Everytime I try to play that game im overwhelmed by all the peeps using bots, and all the 12 yr olds I hear chimin in about stupid stuff over the ingame voice communication. I can only think of one person who is under 20 in our clan, and hes form Canada so its all good.

Someone listed CS as not being a DM game. I beg to differ, as when I do once in a while pop into this game, I notice people rarely go for the objective. CS is a failure because you can win it by just killing everyone, which removes the objective part of the game. Why even include it if you dont HAVE to use it? Thats what makes ET so great, its not a half assed approach. You either cooperate with your teamates, or no one wins. In wolf, on a map like Destruction, a rambo, can steal the show(i got most kills). There really is no I in ET, team play is a must, not optional.

So anyone give that ET song in my last post a listen? :slight_smile:

Ok then, with all this talk of duel processors at the moment will ET/QW take advantage of them (i am such a noob on hardware) Or am i better off getting the a AMD 64 Bit thingy ma jig, i want to be able to run a game at high settings for a change.

I have a dual amd and I won’t buy one again if not for a special purpose, go for the amd64 if you want good gaming performance

What’s the story with Q4? Does it use the same modified engine as ET:QW? Doesn’t look like it does. Is it the vanilla DooM3 engine?

Have to say that compared to Q4, ET:QW is different class. Not trying to knock the creators of Q4 (Raven?) 'cause in the end it’s gameplay that I’m personally most bothered about but still, to say both games are derived from the same engine - you wouldn’t guess it.

So, are we still at 3 screenies released and one movie? I did a quick google for ET:QW and all I see is the breaking story - any updates or am I looking in the wrong places?

Quake 4 uses a different branch of the Doom 3 engine (i.e. Raven’s own).

ime kinda curious about the levels in ETQW

from the trailer and screens it seems everything is set in a dry landscape and little green is visible other some foliage and green around the water

i can see how this make the creating them a bit easier as the landscape is perhaps simpler when tree etc dont have to be woried about

in ET the maps all look very different and makes them a bit more fun as you get to play in different atompheres created by each level

in ETQW will all the maps be desert or are there a variet of locations?

No, everything won’t be the same desert/dry landscape - the trailer and the screenshots we released just happen to have been from one map, which is set in a desert canyon.

But who the **** are we. I never said that i don’t want to play ETQW. So don’t say WE cause i hate it. And by the way. I like the plans for Quake Wars!!!

can u tell us more about scenarios? what else will there be when u use large landscapes? destroyed cities, woods, maps with huge mountains (vulcanos) ?

or, do u make a real campaign from the invasion of the earth to the attack on stroggos planet? thatll be great btw :smiley: … maybe dynamic campaign … earth forces win map xy and next map will be attack on stroggos planet, or strogg wins map xy, next map big city …

i guess u already have ur concepts, but think about it … having a dynamic campaign will bring a slight gameplay change compared to ET …
