Good to hear you can jink left and right when planting a bomb (or disarming, or whatever). Since you’re literally locked so long as you hold the Use button I’m sure it’s a lot more forgiving than ETQW where you could accidentally take your pliers off the bomb or whatever you’re working on (and if you did that with a transmit you had to start over).
Enemy Glowing
@Dormamu: red is the traditional enemy/shoot me color. Using the blue/orange would have at least made color theme sense. I guess it’s nice it’s not near as bad as the shroud/fade thing in wolfenstein.
Yes. The initial passive idea is good. Or fade them out each level to nothing around lvl ~10-15. I think they’re also to tell people to gib downed players… don’t take long to learn that, judging from the shakycams.
There is no need to continue this argument now that Exedore has made SD’s stance clear on this issue.
I hope that at the least rim lighting is kept off by default on the pc.
There’s been no news about how moddable Brink will be. Anyway, we shouldn’t find it acceptable that developers release games with shortcomings on the belief that they can be set right by the mod community. I am saying this in general terms and not specifically on the rim lighting issue.
if it isn’t a server option for PC, I’ll be pissed, I want to run my server just like W:ET

That’s not my point. I’m not saying that they should get a “pass” of some sort if you feel like they’ve done something you don’t like. I’m basically trying to say tow things: One, get over it, and two, I’m almost certain some codemonkey will have it cracked and have a mod for it within a week or shortly thereafter, regardless of how moddable it’s known to be currently.
So you can either bank on that, let it go, or show SD just how big of a deal it is to you by not buying the game. But like you said, their stance has been made clear, so there no more sense whining about it now.
Of course there is sense discussing it, there is a reason this thread has 3000+ views in 3 days, people give a crap. A lot of people who’ve been giving blind faith to this amazing developer for over 2 years on this project to see it turn this way is scary and it’s hard to fight for something people only see as an aesthetic displeasure and nothing more when it is a whole lot more.
Hmmm, let me just break this eula, here… if I’m going to do that I might as well make the brightskins show up through walls.

Well, yes. I doubt many people here would care if they knew it was optional
Read again. Carefully. I said there’s no sense in discussing it further. As in, there was sense before, but since everyone has already said their peace, and SD has heard your plight and responded, it is now pointless. I know this is a very emotional issue for you. Try not to let it affect your reading comprehension skills.
Right, because that NEVER happens.
We agree. Of course it never happens. Everyone’s too afraid of getting their account banned. They might risk it to gain an unfair graphical advantage, though.
I’m not talking about US droning on, the voices of the same people brings nothing new, however don’t discourage other people from speaking their opinion even if it’s been said. Some people have registered and solely posted in this thread. People can always discuss their position on what’s already been said. Thanks for the reading comprehension tips though.
Reading skills criticism eh? Nice Ajax. Aren’t you helpful?
I think what Weapuh and the others are trying to say is that SD’s published stance was far from satisfactory in addressing their concerns. Furthermore, many people still seem to miss the far reaching implications of such a seemingly small change. If you dont see a point in discussion, then perhaps you could quit discussing?
Aw, looks like I made it off of someone’s ignore list!
Anyway, it’s a done deal. There’s nothing left to say about it, it’s already been complained about and answered. The sun will come up tomorrow.
True, and fair enough.
Hi just to say that i dont like those outlines colors on enemys, i like shooters like cod stuff and also fortress games but this ouline stuff it too console ish for my taste : < im kinda disapointed
You’re technically on my ignore list although I don’t think you’re (still?) trolling. Congrats. List isn’t applied when not logged on.

If the game is done then release it.
Done deal? Even if it were gold, they could patch all the servers to have it removed. Besides, if a Cod fan thinks auras are too consolish, then i think this case is far from over. No offense … je t’aime aussi.
Seconded on the releasing it now. I want to show SD that i can FF no matter what jello pit they throw us in.

I’m just saying; they know how you feel. If something feasible can be done to make more people happy than piss them off, I’m guessing it will be.
Making it a noob perk that phased out as you level was an honest to guy, good idea. SD tried that?
Actually, that isn’t a bad an idea. Let’s just say that at level 5 the aura phased out and only showed up on teammates, and at level 10 it was gone completely. If somebody wants to create a low level character all the time in order to get this really powerful perk, then so be it. He’s stuck low level, has to create a new character every time to cheat the system, and will end up being matched with low level players anyway. Yes, he could still use the server browser, but this would help cut the overall use of the aura down by a lot, and he’s stuck at low level anyway. It’ll be shut off for sure on most hardcore\pro servers anyway. It’s not perfect, but it’s a step in the right direction, and avoids many of the problems of the perk\slot solution proposed earlier. Thoughts?
That is a good idea if SD added rim lighting only to help out console/newbie players.
